House of turtledoves in a quiet location

This Villa was home frome home. There was 11 of us and there was plenty of room. Tomar is a great town with a lot of history. Antonio our host made it a great trip.. see you again soon Antonio.

Our family had a very exciting and relaxing time. Already since our booking we were in close contact with Antonio and all our questions were answered patiently and quickly. Therefore, our arrival was completely problem-free. Antonio welcomed us very warmly and took a lot of time for the handover. His recommendations for sightseeing, tours and gastronomy were very valuable. The house is located only 10 minutes drive from beautiful Tomar, which invites you to sightseeing and also shopping. Convento do Cristos should definitely be visited! Only 18 minutes away is Castelo do Bode, with certain skills you may discover small quite swimming spots arround the lake in clear water. The house is very large, very clean and perfectly equipped. Including so much brandnew Bathrooms and well working showers for the whole family ! Extraordinary too, that all windows and doors could be closed with fly screens. On the top the large private clean pool. With the location between the highway and country road, it was for us the ideal starting point for our tours in the country or to the famous beaches between Peniche and Figueira da Foz (about 60-80min). We enjoyed the time very much. We thanks Antonio again for his hospitality.

The house and pool were bigger than we expected. The communication with the landlord was great. Water in the pool colder than expected. Tomar is a great place to visit.

We really enjoyed our country stay. We only had four people, but the house can accommodate many more. Just downstairs, where we stayed, at least eight people could sleep (3 rooms with 1 double in the main room and 2 rooms with 3 twin beds each). The game room has enough games to keep people busy with a pool table. foosball table, and a chess set. The pool area has plenty of seating and was very refreshing after walking and standing much of the day for the Festa. It is plenty large and deep for many people to swim (bigger than many hotel pools we found). Clothes washing machine is available for longer stays/trips (this was our last stop of a long trip). Clothes were line dried with the sun and wind making drying quick. This is a country house and does require some patience with door locks and a little planning for showers to get hot water. But nothing that we had any issues with given we only had four people. Tomar is only a few minutes away by car. Antonio provided great advice on how to go into Tomar to face less of a crowd (no avoiding the crowds altogether during the Festa dos Tabuleiros). The aqueduct is only minutes from the house. Easy access to the freeways to go just about anywhere quickly. We want to Fatima after the "party" was through and found driving around very easy. We would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking to explore Tomar or some of the other options or are simply looking for a respite from your travels.
