The fully fenced property offers privacy, independent entrances, private parking, and a 24/7 security system for added peace of mind during your stay. The tropical design blends naturally with the surrounding environment, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere perfect for disconnecting and slowing down.
Both homes feature comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces designed for the Caribbean lifestyle. Up House and Mini Up House both include AC in the bedrooms, ceiling fans, and open spaces designed to maximize natural airflow and fresh tropical breezes.

Guest Access:
You'll have full access to both houses and the entire property. Enjoy your private tropical gardens, the terrace hammock, and the peaceful surroundings.
The property is located just 30 meters from the main road, making it easy to access. Guests can choose from several convenient options: take a direct shuttle from San José (SJO) airport, fly on a short 45-minute domestic flight to Limón followed by a one-hour drive, or enjoy a scenic 4–5 hour drive from San José.
The Neighborhood:
Playa Chiquita is one of the most beautiful areas in Puerto Viejo, known for its lush tropical nature, wildlife, boutique restaurants, and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere.
Up House is surrounded by nature and conveniently located near restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Please note that the road where the house is located does not have direct beach access. To reach Playa Chiquita beach, guests will need to return to the main road and access the beach from the public entrances nearby.
The area is perfect for exploring the Caribbean lifestyle, enjoying the beaches, spotting wildlife such as sloths and monkeys, and discovering the local food scene.
Getting Around:
If you are traveling internationally, you will most likely arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José. From there, there are several ways to reach the South Caribbean area:

The UP! Houses in Costa Rica - what fantastic Casitas in the Jungle - we were so very fortunate to find. Our only issue was hardly the fault of Utopia Caribe - noise from the construction at the neighbors home next door starting well before 7:30AM! We were determined not to let this ruin our vacay. EVERYTHING else was the VERY BEST! There isn't anything I can add except this, if you're trying to decide on where to stay, look no further....We enjoyed the sounds and sights of the local creatures not far away, the restaurants and shops within walking distance, and, of course, the wonderful beaches. It rained early one morning; we sat out on the couches and never got wet - and never saw one bug! If ever we return to Playa Chiquita, it definitely will be at the UP! House.
