About this house rental
Relax under the magnolia tree and watch the wildflowers grow from the shared backyard (the cottage behind the garage is rented separately). The central location of this 3-bedroom, 2-bath home allows easy access to all the splendors of Carmel—from downtown shops, galleries, and restaurants to hiking trails and beaches. It’s all on one level except for a step-down den with a large TV, fireplace, two swivel chairs and a leather loveseat. The main living room features a second fireplace and a piano, the dining area seats six, and the kitchen has quartz countertops, a 5-burner gas cooktop and stainless appliances. French doors in the breakfast nook open to a deck facing the backyard. The master suite (King bed) has a private bath with a shower and a jacuzzi tub; the second guestroom has a Queen, and the third has two Twins. Both bedrooms share a hall bath with a stall shower. Driveway and street parking. Note: The back cottage has a long term tenant and is not part of the rental. Carmel TOT certificate: 002279

The central location was a real plus. We found the house very comfortable and clean. You can park right by the front door making it convenient to unload luggage. Nice landanscaping with lots of flowers.

The good: The location was great. Nice neighborhood near enough to Carmel but quiet and easy to access. The property was nicely landscaped. The house is roomy and was very clean. The linens were fresh. The TV worked well.The not so good: The pictures are not accurate. The house is dark and poorly lit. It is old and smelled a bit musty. The kitchen was poorly stocked. (No salad bowl, mismatched silverware, dripping faucet, old pots and pans that appeared to be from garage sales.) Old coffee maker. The master bed mattress sagged on both sides. It should be replaced. Shower doors did not close properly. There were ants in the kitchen and bathrooms. The WiFi was sketchy in some rooms. Old furniture.Overall: A good base of operation but not a place you would actually want to spend time in.
