About this house rental
This traditional cottage can be found on the main street of Port Fairy, with off street parking and wild gardens tamed for your delight. The location cannot be beaten for your next family holiday.
Head inside to the newly painted kitchen, light and airy with a view over the backyard and outside seating area, perfect for a morning cup of coffee before you decide what to do with your day. There is a split system for all seasons.
From here you will find the first living area that perfectly combines the old with the new. Enjoy the large screen TV and WiFi next to the heritage fire place although not in use it makes a unique centre piece to this room. This leads to the second living space for those of you who might want to skip the TV and relax over a good book and a glass of wine.
There are 3 bedrooms in the home, the main with a Queen, the second with a single and the third with 2 singles. The bathroom comes with walk-in shower and separate toilet. There is also a laundry with washing machine for your stay.
Lavender Cottage offers a unique stay in Port Fairy, leave the car in the drive and take your time enjoying the cafes and restaurants Port Fairy is known for. All can be found on the doorstep of Lavender Cottage.
Please note there is a second house on the property which occasionally does have guests. They will only have access to the house not the garden space but will access through the same front gate.

The cottage was lovely and well presented. We had issues with the main bedroom at the front as there was a street light outside and the blinds and curtains did not block out the light at night. There were no instructions for the TV and it seemed not to have suitable apps for viewing other than local stations which were not very good.

Enjoyed our stay but main door lock (mentioned as tricky) really needs to be replaced, it was so stiff and took several tries to lock at night. No ABC,SBS channels available which added to disappointment of no movie availability. Drinking water quality poor in Port Fairy generally. Also the legs on sitting room heater need to be screwed on and instructions for turning on required. On a positive note, beds were very comfy and the house had a lovely ambience about it. Lovely garden too.
