About this apartment rental
Enjoy a European style flat in the historic Orenge Building, right in the center of Durham. Our spot is perfect for people who want to take full advantage of the Bull City’s downtown experience: from restaurants to bakeries, stunning architecture, award winning nightlife, the performing arts, and of course BASEBALL.
You’ll sleep in a king size bed facing a gorgeous view of modernist city hall with everything you need at your fingertips in this cozy but spacious studio. We are located in the newly re-opened (July ’23) Orenge Building and have been lovingly designed and furnished by expert Durhamites. Next door is the stunning “Velvet Hippo” (the coolest rooftop bar around) and below the flat is Orenge Durham, an elevated coworking|shared office concept that you’re welcome to access during your time with us.
The studio accommodates 2 guests luxuriously with all the charm you’d expect from a sweet Southern city. A galley kitchen welcomes you opposite a custom-built divider wall made from 100+ year old heart pine absorbed from another part of the building during renovations. A large TV, white noise machine, Nespresso, built-in cooktop, washer+ dryer combo, and convection oven|microwave round out the appliances accompanying a towel warmer in the green tiled bathroom.
We are nestled inside a fully operational mixed-use building and as such, every effort has been made to provide a space to rest from the bustle. However, please expect interactions in common spaces and reasonable sounds that are likely in any downtown district.
Additionally, the bar next door to this unit is the most popular spot in town and stays open till midnight Sun-Thur and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. There are two insulated walls in between the bar and you but you WILL be able to hear sounds and music during these times.
WEEKDAY GUESTS: The building next to us is currently constructing a cigar bar so there may be light construction noise as they finish up. This unit faces East and has room darkening blinds but they are not complete blackouts.
WEEKEND GUESTS: If an upscale nightlife is your jam or you can sleep through anything, this listing is perfect for you. If you require absolute quiet, this is probably not going to be your favorite spot.

Great spot that was right in the heart of everything. The space is very bright and spacious for a studio, and had all the necessary amenities.
If there’s a drawback, it’s the bar upstairs. A little noisy till 2:30 in the morning, but we’re old. Kids and younger folks would love it.
Alva was really helpful and kind. Will definitely stay there again, just not on a weekend given the noise level

In town for a wedding. Orange worked out perfectly. Near all the festivities. Very comfortable little apartment. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
