Boasting an excellent location with easy access to York Minster, this property offers a delightful interior with private courtyard and is ideal for two couples or four friends looking to enjoy this most beautiful of cities.
Be welcomed inside and find an open living area with patio doors that lead out to the enclosed courtyard. The kitchen offers everything needed for cooking a holiday feast. A dining table sits to one side where you can gather for a hearty breakfast before heading out for the day. Deep filled seating is ideally placed for an evening’s relaxation. A super kingsize zip and link double room can be found on the ground floor along with the house bathroom offering a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom is on the first floor and provides you with a super kingsize zip and link double. During the summer months enjoy al fresco dining in the courtyard or wander over to the bowling green and watch the locals enjoy a competitive game of bowls.
The walk into the city centre takes you along Gillygate, one of York’s best loved streets, packed on both sides with independent retailers, fabulous cafés and an amazing family run restaurant! Take time exploring York and marvel at the gothic York Minster, enjoy the remarkable National Trust Site of the Treasurer’s House or spend time in the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum. Wander down the cobbled streets, take a leisurely cruise on the River Ouse or take a seat and watch some of Europe’s best street performers in action. With a world renowned racecourse, a plethora of restaurants and some of the best shopping around, York certainly has something for everyone. A little further afield can be found Castle Howard, home to ’Brideshead Revisited’ and ’Bridgerton’, the pretty market towns of Malton and Helmsley, and the North York Moors National Park is also under an hour away. Perfect place to stay for exploring York. Off street parking such a bonus, especially being only 15 mins walk from city centre. This place is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. It’s warm and cosy and beds so comfy and ex large! The dog loved it too ! We will be back to explore further afield

A lovely warm modern flat. And the beds were soooo comfy. Maybe a welcome pack eg tea, coffee would have been a nice extra.

We've just returned from a lovely week spent at The Old Bike Store in York. The cottage was so nice, exceptionally clean, well appointed, smug and warm and ideally placed for a short walk into the city centre. We received an email from our friendly hosts before we arrived, which contained lots of helpful information concerning travel directions, parking advice and contact details should we need any further assistance. Whilst it was still chilly outside, the wonderful underfloor heating meant we kept warm indoors. There were lots of small grocery shops nearby along with various takeaways, so we were spoilt for choice. We'd definitely recommend this holiday cottage and have every hope to return there in the not too distant future.Many thanks to the owners for providing such a great base in this lovely city.
