The views from the large windows in the living room, dining room and kitchen were absolutely beautiful!!! There are neighbors closeby, but with a large backyard (that leads to a very quiet [no traffic] runway + ocean beyond), it feels quite private. On a different note, if you are not an indoor animal/pet person, this is not the place for you. The room I stayed in smelled like wet dog and the blanket at the end of the bed smelled like a dog had been laying on it for weeks without being washed. With the windows closed up, it kind of seals the pet aroma in the house. There was quite a bit of pet hair around on the furniture and bed linens.
On a more serious note, we also noticed that someone (housekeeping?) let themselves into the house while we were gone one day. They may have been just replacing soaps/shampoos, but we were never notified. This is a security issue. We would never have agreed to stay in a home where someone could let themselves into our rental without telling us. The code to the front door appears to be someone's phone number, and seems that it is never changed. Not only is this a security issue for the renters but also for the owner/house keeper letting themselves in.... esp if there is a renter in there that feels a stranger might be trespassing.
