The house is ok and fit our family nicely everyone had a nice big bed and bunk beds for kids. The house could have some more amenities, the kitchen isn’t well stocked, only had one extra garbage bag to use. In the house rules it says no sticky kid handprints allowed which would be one thing if it was a very nice clean house which this one is not.

I'm commenting to help the owner improve a few things. The front door key pad took several attempts to work. Upon entering the place smelled musty and wasn't "super" clean.Dust on lights, baseboards and outside of fridge not clean. Windows inside/out were dirty. Had to figure out heating system. It would either get too hot or too cold inside. No dish sponge in kitchen or extra trash bags. Couch in family room not the best for more than a few people (different than pictured too). Toilet in hall bathroom "runs" constantly. Poor water pressure in shower. Door squeaky as is the one bedroom. Neither one stayed closed and could open even when locked. Woke up to no hot water on day 3. Maintenance was out to fix in a timely manner. Thank you! Floor transition piece between family/dining room is too high and a tripping hazard. The beds were comfortable. Nice view! Quiet. All contact w/homeowner was in a timely manner.

The property was a perfect location for our family. It was very clean once we walked it. Had everything we needed for cooking. The bed was comfortable. There was one small issue with the hot water but instructions were left and it was no longer an issue. We would stay here again in the future.

Spent a week with the kiddo and friends at Westport. The house was close to all Westport has to offer. Plenty of room for all of us and the kiddo especially enjoyed the gaming station & foosball table!

The home was as pictured in the listing. We had a wonderful stay. It was very close to the marina - we visited Westport to fish. The home could use more seating and additional pots and pans if you are a group of more than 4. We would consider staying there again.

There are a few items to be aware of. 1) The property manager and cleaning staff are very quick to respond to any needs. We needed extra towels and they promptly brought them. Very much appreciated! A few other household items like dish cloths and paper towels were not in the unit but were promptly provided. It’s a new listing and the operators are figuring out the small details. Again, anything missing was promptly provided, just ask! 2) There is no washer/dryer. The listing probably does not mention it being provided but I don’t remember the listing saying it was not provided. Have some extra trash bags to put your wet clothing in if you’re planning on playing at the beach. 3) There are no curtains in the main bedrooms. Bedrooms have clear lines of sight to homes in the area. One bedroom had an outdoor light shining in through the window. Housekeeping noted that curtains were on order. They would definitely bump the rating up! Cheers to Deepa for starting a new rental property. As the curtains and other items get ironed out it’ll be a great place to explore Westport.

Westport is truly a place to decompress, slow things down, enjoy great seafood and numerous scenic hikes in the area. And digging for razor clams is great fun for the entire family and this location could not be any better. Now the bad news. I hope our experience will save others a major disappointment. Especially if you're traveling with children and pets. Even though the listing states that pets are welcome, AFTER booking you will receive a long string of additional and self-contradictory requirements such as: $100 non-refundable "pet fee". "No pets on the furniture." And then finally "no pets inside the house". It goes on to list things such as: "No sticky children fingerprints on furniture: "No food or snacks outside kitchen and dining areas" "If dishes are not cleaned you will be charged a fee" "Floors have to be cleaned prior to departure" "Fill your own propane for BBQ grill" The disappointment began before we even set a foot inside. The front door is simply impossible to open without applying the full force of a grown man. No child or an average female would be able to operate the door on their own. It went downhill from there: - Literally every single electrical appliance and piece of plumbing in this house is over 40+ years old. Rusty, leaking, rattling, worn out. Multiple water leaks must be causing mold issues. -Dirty oven (dried up egg yolk) -Filthy old microwave and rangetop -No curtains on any windows, zero privacy -No mosquito screens -Not a single hanger in any of the closets -Not a single extra blanket -Cigarette butts in the firepit -Construction nails in the backyard -Rat poison leaking from dispensers (MAJOR children and pet safety issue). - Leaking plumbing flooded the kitchen floor in the middle of dinner prep. Instead of enjoying dinner with friends, we spent it mopping up. -Old and dirty bathroom fans will wake everyone up if used during the night. I wish there was a way to attach photos to a review. The fact is, this property is a fixer upper that had been cosmetically refreshed and simply "staged" for photos. It falls miserably short of anyone's standard of comfort and we felt extremely lucky to have booked it for just 1 night. Alerting the owner did not lead to any positive resolution, no discounts or refunds were offered. You're on your own once you have fallen into this trap. This lesson was not cheap, but for us it will be very valuable and lasting.
