About this cabin rental
Escape the city to the peaceful Hilltop A-Frame nestled on a picturesque 5-acre plateau with breathtaking mountain panoramas & mesmerizing views of the starlit sky at night. Enjoy those stars on our brand new composite deck off the back door (not yet pictured)! Our cozy retreat is your gateway to year-round adventures from hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, or just relaxing! Perfect for couples, spend your days playing records, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, or brewing coffee with the MoccaMaster. With fast WiFi & mid-century modern vibes, it’s the perfect escape!
The cabin’s location offers privacy and easy access to nearby towns:
Fairplay: 10 mins
Alma: 20 mins
Breckenridge: 43 mins (at a fraction of the cost Breck ski season)
Buena Vista: 35 mins
The fully-equipped kitchen invites you to create a gourmet meal for two or three, complete with a brand new oven, retro refrigerator, toaster, & microwave. The small mid century modern dining table is the perfect spot for up to three guests. In the mood for some coffee? Don't worry as we provide the coffee beans so all you have to do is take advantage of the new MoccaMaster, a coffee lover's dream!
As night falls, relax on the couch with a glass of wine and enjoy your favorite shows on the Smart TV. If you're not in the mood for TV, flip on some tunes on the record player or connect your own music via the Sonos speaker and dance the night away! If you are wanting to re-live your childhood, pull out the Super Nintendo Class Edition with over 100 games to choose from! While the cabin doesn’t have cable, the Smart TV has all the apps for you to login and stream your favorite apps! The electric fireplace adds to the ambiance, creating the perfect setting for an ideal evening in!
Up the spiral staircase, the main bedroom features a queen-sized Casper bed for restful nights, while the second bedroom has a twin bed and a dedicated workspace with Starlink WiFi—perfect for remote work or streaming. The spiral staircase leading to the upper floor adds charm but may not suit small children or larger luggage.
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, exploring what Park and Summit counties have to offer, skiing at nearby world class resorts while avoiding I-70 traffic, or simply wanting an escape from the everyday hustle (and/or heat!) in our Hilltop A-Frame, we can't wait to host you!

Important cabin information for a wonderful stay:
Temperature: Our A-frame cabin doesn't have air conditioning. Daytime temps hover around 70-75F° in summer, dropping to 42-50°F at night which will cool things off. We do have portable fans (Dyson on main floor and Lesko in each bedroom). These are also heaters and n addition to the baseboard & wall heaters.
Staircase: Embrace the unique charm of our spiral staircase leading to the upper rooms. Larger checked luggage might face challenges on these snug stairs. The staircase is not recommended for small children either.
Bugs: We have our home professionally managed to control pests. However, on a rare occasion, we have insects make it past the barriers set by the pest control into the cabin. If you are extremely bothered by bugs, definitely reconsider booking any remote cabin in Colorado (but check out our other rentals!).
Mud Season & Winter Driving: Early spring runoff may make our road muddy. Accessible year-round, our cabin recommends AWD/4WD with good tire tread in snowy months (Nov-Apr).
Outdoor Fires: Due to wildfires, please refrain from using any ember-producing equipment.
Water Source: Enjoy safe drinking water from our 283ft deep well. Conserve water to avoid potential well dryness. Hot water tank provides 10-15 min hot showers, reheating quickly.
Altitude: At 9,500 feet above sea level, stay hydrated.

Loved it perfect getaway

This was the perfect weekend getaway for my partner and I, could not have been more pleased with this beautiful little cabin in the center of the South Park valley. We loved that there was a lovingly put together kitchen where we could prepare and cook our meals, lots of boardgames and books to enjoy, and cozy vibes galore here! Close enough to town to not be a chore but also remote enough to feel like a proper retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. I would happily recommend this if you are looking for a little hideaway near Fairplay or Buena Vista!

Our stay was amazing! Everything was very clean. Our kids had a great time experiencing our childhood memories of playing Nintendo, battleship, connect 4 and listening to a record player! We would recommend this cabin to anyone!
