We enjoyed our stay near Fairplay. The house was very adequate for our group of 10. There were a few items that would have made the stay a little more enjoyable. The huge west facing windows had a beautiful view, but they also let in the sun's rays that really heated the house up. There should have been screens for every window so we could have cooled the house down at night. The window were also in need of a good cleaning. The grill did not work, so it made dinner plans a lot more expensive. It would be nice if the road beyond CO 9 was taken better care of. All in all, a nice house, but in need of a few updates.

The house was so nice and had all the amenities and supplies one could need for living in a house. The beds were comfortable and the bedding and pillows were great. We especially loved the big wrap-around deck and mountain view. The house was very clean. Just a couple of drawbacks. 1) VRBO letter did not give the correct wi-fi password so we were frantic trying to get in touch with other family members flying in or expected later. 2) Two different ways to get to the house from HWY 9: However, the way closest to Alma was blocked off with a chain so we had to drive almost all the way to Fairplay to get to the house. No "biggie", just a little inconvenient. 3) Though the kitchen was stocked with lots of specialty appliances and plenty of dishes and flatware, etc. could have used a couple ordinary saucepans - 1 small and 1 medium. Loved that there were a multitude of spices on hand in the cupboards and lots of condiments in the fridge. Tons of towels were available. We liked that there was a basket of toys for the 5 year old in our party. It was a perfect place to stay over a long mountain weekend.

The cabin had the perfect amount of space for our families needs. Full bathroom on each level of the cabin. The kitchen has plenty of dishes for a large group. The views off the deck are amazing. We were able to rent skis from Fairplay and ski Breck and Keystone. Kids had fun sledding down the driveway while adults enjoyed the fireplace.

Don’t know where to start.
First the positive. Host was very easy to contact and did respond quickly to a couple basic issues. But this house could be so much better with a good deep clean. Even a good regular clean would work.
1. Main entrance thru garage is filthy, smelly and very uninviting.
2. What is considered the primary is in a very cold basement with a strong perfume cologne smell which kept us up and gave us a headache. Next day had to leave the one ground floor window open all day to somewhat mitigate smell.
3. Floor next to garbage stainless steel container in kitchen very dirty and drips running down side.
4. TV’s were challenging. You have to unplug primary’s TV to turn on and off.
5. Have the windows cleaned failed or not so you can actually enjoy the great views. All windows are filthy.
6. Deck in need of repair? Grill is so dirty would never think to use. Furniture also dirty. Never used.
7. Water pressure in showers ok, but non existence in bathroom and kitchen sinks.
8. Found discarded used contacts on bathroom floor.
We were lucky to have friends that lived in same neighborhood so we spent all are spare time with them. We slept at house and up and out in the morning and back at 10 pm or later.
Very disappointing and could have been so much better if the house was just clean. Needs a lot of maintenance, but if super clean some maintenance issues could be overlooked.
