Enjoy beautiful winter scenery, and sledding/snow tubing and hiking, with great views at the top of the private mountain. Clear views of the Milky Way and opportunity for astrophotography at night.
Summer mornings on the porch, you can hear individual bees pollinating clover flowers, waking up one at a time until they're all busy at work. In the summer, private hiking and trails, a cultivated blueberry patch, and the flora and fauna of the backyard meadow exude peace and nature. Swimming and kayaking and other water sports are a short drive away at the Great Sacandaga Lake and Stewart’s Pond. Reach dining, shopping and other attractions in Saratoga Springs or Lake George in 30 minutes. Experience the small town life in Lake Luzerne 10 minutes away, with plenty of outdoor activities.
The space
Bluebear Cottage is a century‑old Adirondack home with thoughtful updates and modern comforts. It’s a space that reflects its history and natural surroundings. Guests who appreciate rustic charm, privacy, and the chance to immerse themselves in the outdoors will feel right at home. Trails are natural logging paths and dirt roads, offering an authentic backwoods adventure.
The covered front porch with several hand crafted wooden Adirondack chairs, are perfect for morning coffee.
The back deck has a charcoal grill, tables, and chairs for grilling and dinner.
Up a short path to the fire pit, you can roast marshmallows and build s'mores while the low light pollution affords amazing stargazing on clear nights, including observing the Milky Way.
The family room is a favorite in the winter time with the fire on. The wood stove gets that room quite toasty, and sometimes you don't want to leave that space!
The office desk with USB dongle includes a screen, keyboard, mouse, and AC adapter, so you can just plug your PC in and work remotely / write your novel / add incredible journal entries with fast WiFi.

This was our second time staying at the Bluebear Cottage and it was just as enjoyable as the first time! The house has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing! The hosts make check in and check out easy! You are close enough to enjoy Lake George, Lake Luzerne, and Saratoga! We can't wait to visit again next summer!

Remote, but still close to other places like stores and attractions. The cottage is beautiful. The owner was very communative and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

This was the perfect house for us to enjoy our stay in the Adirondacks! It is cozy and comfortable, quiet, but your still able to get to the many adventures that are around there! We enjoyed the fire pit, sitting on the porch, and the house had everything needed for a comfortable stay! The host was friendly and accommodating!
