This one-of-a kind cottage features 3 bedrooms and a 4th bonus room in the loft. Direct access to the lake makes it easy to enjoy any water activity or hobby. Additionally, Cold Brook County Park is just a short canoe ride across the lake, which features a swimming beach, disc golf, hiking trails, boat ramp and much more. Bring your boat and dock it right in your backyard on The Cottage’s dock. Prepare your favorite meal on the grill and roast marshmallows in the evening on the fire pit, all while enjoying the lake views and sounds of nature. This gorgeous property is the perfect reprieve for rest and relaxation! You will be taken aback with the beautiful views of the quiet and calm Portage Lake. Additionally, you will be just 10 minutes from Battle Creek and 15 minutes from Kalamazoo!

The cottage was amazingly constructed using the post and peg Amish method. The layout of the cottage was very convenient. However, a 2nd half-bathroom on the second floor would be beneficial. I would recommend bringing drinking water with you as the faucet water was not very pleasant tasting.We loved hanging out on the large deck and making s'mores over the fire pit overlooking the lake. Sunsets, honking geese, swans lead to relaxing days and nights! Overall, the cottage, both inside and out was so very charming and the lake views were beautiful! The hosts, Arlene, Jon and Tonya were very nice and accommodating throughout our stay. Thank you for sharing this wonderful cottage!

We had an absolutely perfect stay over Labor Day weekend. Plenty of space for ourselves and our five children (ages 4-15), and everyone had a great time. Exactly the laid back, quiet goodbye to summer we were looking for!! The kids caught tons of fish from the dock, and we all enjoyed kayaking on the clear-as-glass water. The house itself was charming and we enjoyed finding new antique treasures in every corner through the weekend. Exactly as a Michigan cottage should be!
