One of Folly’s Best! Zanzibar is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom beachfront retreat. This recently renovated property features a large sun deck and walkway directly down to the sandy beach. Located near the section of beach called ‘the washout’ you can spend your days surfing the waves. Catch breathtaking sunrises just steps from your bed in the morning. Take a short bike or golf cart ride to reach local restaurants and beach shops on Center Street.
The spacious unit is part of an elevated duplex. The unit features two living rooms, one of which has floor-to-ceiling windows that slide open to fully connect with the outside deck. The kitchen also features fully opening windows to feel the ocean breeze while you prepare your favorite meal. The modern kitchen provides full standard appliances as well as a dishwasher to add ease. There are three bedrooms to sleep 6 guests comfortably. The master bedroom has a king bed and ensuite wet room style bathroom. There is a bunk bed with a slide for little ones to enjoy. The third bedroom has a double bed and ensuite half bathroom. Zanzibar has a Smart TV as well as WIFI. Under the home is a shared outdoor lounge area for the duplex. There is also a shared washer/dryer under the home.

Walk right out to the beach! The views and the kitchen were absolutely amazing. We could see and hear the ocean from the kitchen and patio. The sliding doors and windows open up all the way, and expand the space beautifully. We had coffee on the dock and watched surfers and dolphins. Also this part of folly beach is very chill and quiet. The outdoor shower has hot and cold water and is definitely a bonus! We spent most of our time lounging on the patio with the sliding doors wide open. And the wildlife viewing and sunrise/sunset walks were so peaceful. There were also some boogie boards that we had fun on catching some waves !3 bathrooms, with one of them one updated and remodeled beautifully, the other 2 are the original bathrooms. Please note that this is a duplex, with a garden wall dividing the outdoor space and the neighboring porch is elevated, slightly overlooking the porch of this unit. We felt we had enough privacy and our neighbors were very nice. We spent most of our time on the porch and down at the beach and we were very pleased with the beach access. We were very comfortable with the set-up of this divided unit, and would cone stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay! The private access beach was a big plus! The property was as shown in the listing. The kids did have lots of stubbed toes due to lifting floor boards, long thresholds and some screws sticking up. I understand that is hard to show in a listing. The frequent and clear communication was greatly appreciated.

Pros: Loved the kitchen and patio area - the round bed on the patio was a nice touch. Checkin communication from property management was great. When we reached out to property management with a concern, they responded quickly and were able to get the issue resolved within a couple hours. Air conditioning worked well. Enjoyed the location away from the ‘heavy traffic’ area. Really enjoyed the tub in the master bathroom. The downstairs area was very nice for dogs. The decor in the home was eclectic - our best description is a blend of contemporary and vintage? Cons: The home has many areas in need of maintenance - vent covers on the floor aren’t secured; door in master bedroom to patio won’t open (or we couldn’t get it to open); doors from inside the home to patio-we weren’t able to engage the lock; filtered cold water in the kitchen wasn’t working (hot water was working); bidet in master didn’t work and toilet, also in master bath, ran approximately half the time; door to master bath was very difficult to open and close. The electric to the home was out for a little more than 2 hours with the meter outside reading ‘off’ (this is the issue the management company responded to quickly and was able to resolve). The biggest drawback for us was the limited view of the beach, the home is directly on the beach but the landscaping limits the view of the water and beach.
