About this house rental

"The view from the deck was outstanding. Very close to the dunes. BEAUTIFUL house. Will stay again. Will recommend to everyone who wants to come to North Bend with a big group!" - Denice, Aug 2020

Experience the seclusion and serenity of this large house surrounded by nature. It is in a quiet, private location with views of a lake, a dune, and the ocean. You will not have to leave the house to enjoy the Oregon Coast view, but you must drive to the dunes or the beach by car or on the highway. This house is very special, and we ask all guests to stay with care.

This is a custom-built house from the 1980s. Some of the redwood timbers used to build the house were from an old mill in Northern California. To access the house, there is a half-mile of gravel road off Highway 101. The gravel road may have potholes or children playing, so drive slowly. There is no direct access to the dunes. You have to trailer your OHVs to a nearby staging area.

Guests will have access to the entire house, except for no access to the garages or outbuildings. Please respect the 2 neighbors who also live along the road and do not enter their private property.

The shower in the master bathroom has a large window. This can make guests nervous, but the window is on the back side of the house with a view of the dunes and ocean. It is located on a secluded part of the deck that only your guests can access.

Living with wildlife: Small bats roost in the cedar siding in spring and summer. We recommend closing windows and doors without screens at night to keep them outside. If a bat gets in the house, stay calm. It doesn't want to be in the house and will fly around looking for an escape. It will tuck itself into the vaulted ceilings in the loft. Let us know if this happens, but due to the height of the ceilings, there are no guarantees we can remove the bat.

We live nearby, so we are a call away if you need us. Otherwise, you will have your privacy.

This property was perfect for our guys weekend and we had a great time. Unique interior architecture, stunning views, private setting, and house was well stocked for large groups for cooking and sleeping. Main living room was very cozy and the wood fireplace was a huge bonus. Close to Coos Bay, Oregon Dunes, and Tenmile Lake. Wrap around deck with several large benches were perfect for group dining with amazing views. Would absolutely stay again. Good communication by the hosts for anything we needed.

We were fortunate enough to be here on a beautiful weekend with blue skies and comfortable warm weather in late September. The home has beautiful large-window views of the forest, lakes, dunes and distant ocean. The home is secluded so you don’t have to worry about bothering the neighbors or being quiet at a certain time. The home had lots of nice touches, the beds were comfortable, and everything worked well. There was plenty of parking for the five vehicles. We were there with a group of 9 people

A group of us celebrating a couple 40th birthdays had a blast at this giant house! Quiet and away from everyone, yet a close drive to Coos Bay or Charleston bay.

The house had cob webs in every corner, very out-dated, smelled of mold. Most windows didn’t have screens, screen doors were broken or ripped. Other than that, the property manager was very kind and communicative. I just think the house needs a good deep clean and a little updating/renovation.

Although a great location, private, and quirky 70’s house … * When we walked in the strong musty smell was hard to ignore. Immediately opened all of the windows. The laundry room smelled of mildew. Left windows open most of the time, musty smell not as strong. * Deck was awesome, but in need of maintenance/repair. Several boards were rotten. Moved benches over those areas to prevent walking on. Paint chipped and peeling. * Threshold from dining room to kitchen was split, broken and loose. Covered with rug to prevent tripping. * Lower windows in dining rm smeared with child handprints, looked like they had played in syrup. * Cobwebs in many of the windows. * There was rodent poison in the top drawer of desk in one of the bedrooms. Downstairs bedroom smelled particularly bad, like something dead. * Shower curtain in one bathroom looked like someone got into a fight with it, was all twisted up and hanging off several of the hooks. * No blender as advertised. Called contact number as instructed, left message asking for assistance to locate blender. Did not receive a call back. The living room area had great seating, nice library, and fabulous view. Kitchen was large, plenty of room for gathering and cooking. Loved the double sinks and bank of windows.
