Charming village house with garden

Lovely cottage with everything we needed. Short walk to town with numerous shops and restaurants. Lovely Van Gogh walk almost right out the door to the St Paul Monastery where Van Gogh spent time and painted numerous works. Hosts very helpful with all our concerns even though there was a language barrier as we do not speak any French. Our bad. Great stay.

My husband and I like to stay at places where we can experience how local people live. This VRBO did not disappoint us in that regard. (Our only struggle was getting our mid-sized SUV rental into the space--sharp turns and narrow road--but we managed with Julie's assistance. By the way, the VRBO space is to the left in the picture below.) Speaking of space, the outdoor patio was wonderful for basking in the sun. The interior space was simple but large enough for our needs. Yes, the bed was firm but not hard, and conforms to typical European mattress standards. (You will see from the picture below that we do not make the bed while on holiday!) Julie was very helpful with information for tourism in St. Remy and the surrounding areas (She does not speak English, but French and Spanish. The Google Translate app is helpful.) We would stay there again, but rent a much smaller car! ;]

Lovely little cottage within easy walking distance to the main village. The cottage was very well equipped, it had everything we needed to cook meals and all the equipment was good quality, clean and working. It was a very large unit and very comfortable with absolutely everything we needed. The large courtyard in front of the cottage was the perfect place to chill out after a busy day and a peaceful place to eat breakfast and dinner. A well stocked U Tile supermarket was an easy 5 min walk away & next door to the supermarket was a fabulous gourmet deli with ready made meals. There are also loads of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our only negatives were that the car park and driveway that was only suitable for a very small car - this was not described in the add. We hired a small car and chose this place because of the car park yet we were unable to use the car park due to the very narrow entrance and tiny car park. There is a public car park only 7 min walk away, over a gravel path which was a bit of a hassle to pull the suitcases. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain. Our 2nd negative was that the shower head was broken and not able to be used - we needed to hold it to use it. Hopefully this will be fixed for the next guests. Also, just be aware that Julie the host, does not speak a word of English, so have your google translate at the ready for check in if you are not French.

Great location, few mins walk to St Remy de Provence. Easy walk to Glanum site. Gite clean and tidy and everything you needed. Disappointed with the bed though, it was very, very hard and we did not sleep well and woke with sore backs and hips.
