About this house rental
Lake view cabin in a gated community on Lake Cypress Springs. Includes assigned Boat Slip. Peaceful and serene. Nestled among towering trees with nice landscaping. Sleeps 6. Two bedrooms each have a queen size bed. Loft has two twin size daybeds. Dining room table seats six. Great lake views from deck, downstairs living room, dining room, kitchen, upstairs bedroom and loft. Two full bathrooms. Washer and dryer. Wrap around deck for outdoor relaxation. Grilling area on the side deck. Keypad entry. The property is the perfect escape to enjoy Cypress Springs Lake living at it's best! 90 minute drive from Dallas. Lake Bob Sandlin State Park 4 miles away.

The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The check-in/check-out was very easy. The owner, Mary, was very quick and responsive to questions. The community is gated and secluded which was wonderful! My only criticisms are that the outside deck/seating was dirty from a lot of bird droppings and the windows could use different window coverings. The blinds were not very private in the evenings, and the downstairs bedroom only had a thin curtain. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this property again!

Pros - the house is in a very small and quiet neighborhood mixed with full time residents and a number of short term rentals - some of which are newly renovated. There are great views of the lake through the large windows. The dock is convenient, and the lake is great. The photos are mostly accurate depictions of what we encountered. The pizza place near the house was very tasty.
Cons - like several others have said - the house is in desperate need of attention and renovations. There were cobwebs inside the house especially around the windows and in the kitchen. These cobwebs have been there for months - not a few days. And like other reviews - the deck and outside furniture didn’t appear to have been cleaned in several months.
The sofa and beds aren’t very comfortable and there is only one TV in the house. The AC did not cool very well during the day but worked well enough at night for us to sleep.
The house is properly advertised as lake view (not front), but the pictures lead us to believe that it was very close to the lake. It’s a hike - over 200 yards from the front door to the dock.
The worst part is the house has an overwhelming mildew odor that permeated into everything. We assumed that the house had been unused for a while and that the smell would go away after running the AC for a few hours or a day - we were sadly mistaken.
