CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled with at least 90 days prior notice, 1/2 of the pre-paid rental payment will be refundable. MOUNTAIN VIEW SHORES is a lovely development with many year-round homes, it features a private boat ramp area where you may park your boat trailer for the duration of your stay. It has paved roads and central water system. Ideal for walkers and joggers. Lake location is supreme being near the mountain and the dam at the deepest, cleanest part of the lake. The land was originally owned by the Appalachian Power Company (which owns the lake) and a group of 10 investors from Bedford bought the land from the Power Company in the late 1970's and developed the subdivision comprised of over 400 lots, offering the land for sale one section per year, selling out in 4 years.

Loved that it was dog friendly! Nice large bathrooms with GREAT water pressure! Two kitchens was a little bit of a challenge since one had a good stove and the other had the dishwasher. Deck furniture was VERY comfortable. Home was very clean. Loved the cove, not a lot of traffic, so nice for swimming. Nice windows and lots of natural light! Nice neighborhood for walking. Great that there was closet space and dresser space in the bedrooms and hangers in the closets! Plenty of room for 5 adults. Walk to the dock was steep! would not recommend for mobility challenged individuals. Overall...great stay!
