About this house rental
Pump Station: sleeps 8 / 9 in 2 bedrooms , a snug and 2 Bathrooms, with a maximum of 6 adults.
Ground Floor Large open plan sitting, dining, kitchen area with fridge and small freezer, (located in the second bedroom's walk-in wardrobe), coffee grinder and cafetiere, dining table seating 10, sofa, chairs and log burning stove.
Master Bedroom (sleeps 2), king size bed, walk-in wardrobe, en-suite bathroom with bath, WC and basin.
Bedroom 2: king size bed and two bunk beds are on offer, shared en-suite shower room with shower, WC and basin.
Several different options for sleeping arrangements:
Option A: Max 2 Adults + 2 Children. King Size Bed + two bunk beds [1m x 3m]
Snug: This area can be used as an additional sleeping area. (2-3 children under 10). Please select this option if required.
Option A: Cosy den for reading / meditating / relaxing / streaming
Option B: Max 2 Adults. Super King. (3 children under 10) Please note this area has doors to make the space private from the open plan living space. If all bedrooms and snug are occupied, one of the en-suite bathrooms is shared.
We will provide you with a diagrammatic guidance pack that allows you to review the bedroom arrangements on offer, allowing you to choose the ideal scenario for your stay.

Natural open garden area (not enclosed)
Chairs from inside can be placed on the terrace (fair weather only)
No BBQ is provided, but please feel free to bring your own.
Towels and linen are provided

Bedroom 2 has a king size bed which can be made in to 2 singles on request.
Please note: If you wish to hold a photo shoot or a TV/Film production at this property an additional fee will apply. The necessary licences must also be obtained from The Dungeness Estate http://www.dungenessestate.co.uk/
Anyone who is found to hold such an event without permission or the relevant licences will be charged retrospectively.

We had the most wonderful stay in the Pump House which was even better in real life than in the photos. My son literally exclaimed as we walked in the door that this was the best house he’d ever been in. It was comfortable and luxurious and sitting look out at the shingle and the power station through the floor to ceiling windows is quite magical. It’s a very special place.

Great, convenient location for beach, lighthouse and train. Warm underfloor heating kept out the wind and rain. Comfy seating; our party competed for the nooks in the picture windows with views of the lighthouse and power station!

The Pump station is a beautiful place to stay and Dungeness is absolutely breathtaking. The renovation of the station has been very well done and the kitchen is well equipped, but there were a few small issues which made the stay overall feel not really worth the money.
The pump station was very cold and whilst there was a fire we weren't able to adjust the temperature of the heating at all which meant we woke up very cold. One of the bathrooms has a bath and a very very low pressure handheld shower that you have to crouch in the bath to use. Given up to 6 adults can theoretically stay it seems weird that there would not be two functional showers or at least that it would not be made very clear on the website.
The customer service is very blunt and cold via email and again, came across quite strangely given the cost of the stay and this detracted from the experience for example, I asked if they had tea and coffee at the accomodation (which is quite standard in holiday homes) and was simply told 'I would recommend bringing with you all supplies that you think you will need to make your stay a comfortable one', which was very weird and evasive - and also somewhat incorrect as they did have oil / salt etc?
The bed in the main bedroom was also bizarrely and uncomfortably soft.
Overall, beautiful accomodation let down by some of the practicalities and probably not worth the price.

Our second stay at Pump Station was as wonderful as the first. The wind howled round the building, only adding to our sense of comfort and coziness. The huge sky is a feature of Dungeness that we love.
