NEW! Unique 5* Beach Resort Retreat in Gran Bahia Principe next to SIAN KAAN

This place is everything I could've asked for and MORE. I was looking for somewhere safe and affordable for my children and I. This was our first trip to Mexico and this place couldn't have been more perfect. From the start Vitalie was amazing to work with. He answered each of my many questions. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The unit is very modern and has pretty much everything you need. Its very close to the family pool and the wellness center. The Bistro at the wellness center has some great food. Only two small issues 1. Apparently we arrived during the slow season so the menu was VERY limited. 2. They don't use the current exchange rate. Upon my arrival the exchange rate was 19 pesos per USD the bistro used 15 pesos per USD. That was annoying as I feel it made the food overpriced. As a guest you have access to the hotels and their pools and there is a trolley that will transport you. It was a little challenging since we arrived during slow season so the trolley stopped running at 3:00PM which really limited our time at the resorts. Luckily I met some nice people at the pool that made me aware of that otherwise we would've been stranded with a cab as our only option back. The other slight bummer is the resort doesn't accept money so your only option for purchasing food is to buy the food package which was $28 per person for a buffet lunch or $60 per person to eat all day (which isn't a good option since the trolley stops so early). Honestly those are my only complaints. I would definitely recommend a car however we were able to do a lot once we got the timing down for the shuttle. There is a small water park for kids at one of the hotels....you have to get there early to get a chair as many of the resorts guests go out first thing in the AM and claim chairs. There are also a number of really nice pools throughout the resorts. The property manager Alegria was THE GREATEST. She took us to Walmart in Playa del Carmen, took us to the Ruins and Pyramids, showed us around town in Akumal, went to the grocery store with us and even came and took us to the clinic when my son got a little sick. It was so great to have someone show us around that spoke both perfect English and Spanish. Overall we had an AMAZING time and we are already planning our return. I travel a lot and am EXTREMELY picky but would have NO PROBLEM recommending Vitalie's place!!

I very much enjoyed my month long stay in this condo amidst nature and quiet surroundings with all the amenities you could want. The condo was modern with all you need for cooking, lovely clean grounds, large balcony for mornings and evenings with lots of birds. Solid internet, TV and AC. Really enjoyed the Wellness Center where I attended free yoga classes, used the gym and swam in lap pool surrounded by nature. Aukumal BAy was nearby where I enjoyed beautiful snorkeling, short walk to highway to take collectivo anywhere, car not necessary. Also nice to have trolley access to Tulum Resort where I enjoyed quite a few lunch buffets and the beach chairs with ocean view. Overall, excellent stay. I hope to return and would highly recommend. Peaceful and tranquil, really is a Zen setting, we used the gym regularly and there is the use of several pools. The apartment has all that is necessary for a long stay, nearly 6 weeks in our case. Alegria was very helpful on our arrival, showed us around the area and helped us with a car hire, I would strongly recommend renting a car as the complex is very spread out. All in all, a great stay and Vitalie is an excellent guy to deal with.........Rob and Marie-Ange

Fantastic plot, great setting This was our repeat visit to TAO after having visited similar property late this year. The TAO area has grown somewhat larger (perhaps by one or two small buildings), however without losing its charm. It worked quite well as the prices have dropped from last year, and this particular apartment was just an awesome deal. The second floor condo we stayed at was plainly amazing, super clean, and well appointed. It was from the same owner and in the same building, however slightly more spacious. The kitchen was brand new and the selection and styling was perfect. It came with a great set of furniture made from some exotic jungle wood that I never saw before, which was quite refreshing. Also very liked that it came with contemporary window blinds and mosquito door nets which the other apartment did not provide. The balcony was outstanding, incorporating full and comfortable patio furniture. Bahia Principe resort has not changed all that much, but SIAN KAAN has proven (once again) best, food-wise. The overall resort is so large that it has plenty of everything, for everyone. This was one of the reasons for our return to Maya. The owner was kind enough to offer us a little extra discount as repeat guests (much appreciated), which had made my husband quite exited. I had thought the place was quite reasonably priced even before it, especially after checking what others in the resort had to offer Cheers,
