Summary:
Saugatuck is the 2nd best small coastal town in the nation according to USA Today's ranking! Our 2 story condo lives like a single family home as it comes with multiple outdoor spaces, a sprawling floor plan, wonderful natural light, sleeping accommodations for 8 and parking for 2 cars. There is a seasonal community pool that is right next to the Kalamazoo Lake and it is easily within walking distance of both the charming towns of Saugatuck and Douglas, MI.
The Space:
Welcome to our spacious 2 story "condo" that affronts Kalamazoo Lake in Saugatuck of Allegan County, Michigan. If you are looking for spectacular views, modern appliances and furnishings and all in a laid back location, you have found the place!
The living spaces are all on the first floor and this includes spectacular views outdoors to the landscaped courtyard, community pool and of the lake. There is a foyer with a mud room and a half bath. The kitchen is decked out in stainless steel appliances including a gas range and a large kitchen island with informal dining options. We recently added a murphy bed to the first floor that is inside a white cabinet.
The family room takes advantage of the views outdoors with large windows and sliding doors to the first floor porch. There is a gas fired fireplace for the our cooler season months. The back porch features a small gas grill and a seating area with a sofa, 2 chairs and a table.
The upper level offers 3 bedrooms and the main bedroom faces the back of the condo and features a King bed and a wonderful en suite bathroom. Enjoy the in room coffee bar! There is a large deck off of this bedroom that offers expansive lake and sunset views! This deck contains a 4 top dining set and 2 additional chairs. We suspect you'll spend many hours outdoors while on vacation here!
The second bedroom has a Queen bed and wonderful warm, natural lighting and the second full sized bathroom is just across the hall and the laundry room is located on the second floor as well.
The third bedroom is great for kids with it's bunk bed, each mattress is twin size.

The condo association has a community pool available to use from Memorial Day to Labor day and each condo has parking for 2 cars.

Saugatuck is home to America's only remaining chain ferry! Looking to get active? Take the chain ferry across the lake and climb the 303 wooden steps at Mt Baldhead. Sand Dunes lead you to Oval Beach, which is known around the world for its beautiful shoreline and rolling dunes. A happening place to soak up the sun! A cruise on the Star of Saugatuck will be a family and crowd favorite admiring all the beautiful homes and amazing views Lake Michigan has to offer. Other nearby attractions include beaches, biking, hiking, boating, shopping, and more.

This is a self check in property with a coded door code that gets changed in between every reservation. We had a wonderful time and the fireplace was so cozy on these snowy nights. Downtown Saugatuck was beautiful at Christmastime. My one suggestion would be a rug or mat inside the door for snowy boots. They asked that we don't wear shoes in the house, which wasn't a problem. But there wasn't a place to put wet shoes or snowy boots to get them off the beautiful hardwood floors. We will definitely be back.

Location, location, location!You can’t beat the setting…beautiful water views, especially from the upper deck/balcony. It’s an easy walk to downtown Saugatuck, with its charming shops and amazing restaurants. Cross the bridge, and you’re in Douglas!The condo itself is very well appointed, offering many of the comforts of home. It’s managed by a property management company rather than the owners, and communication with them was excellent.That said, something future guests might want to know: if you’d like to check in even an hour earlier than the standard time, you’ll receive a text offering paid early check-in options (starting at 55 for a 3 p.m. arrival and up to 183 for earlier). The same applies for late check-out. While this is clearly communicated, it may feel a bit off-putting, especially in the off-season when the property isn’t booked right before or after your stay.A small note: there was no shower gel, bath soap, or shampoo provided. Since Saugatuck is a resort town without nearby big box stores, it’s helpful to bring your own.Overall, we would definitely stay again! The sunset views are incredible, and the location and living space make it a wonderful getaway.

We would definitely recommend this house for two couples. It was very clean, a great location for walking to downtown Saugatuck and had everything we needed.
