Beautiful place. Yard/garden was a little small but adequate and fact there was a BBQ was great addition. Kitchen again a bit small but it was good enough for what we needed! Two lounges, bigger, plenty of space. And the two bedroom sizes were fantastic. Bit of road noise but we slept really well and was super quiet overnight. Awesome shower! The water pressure was fantastic. We had everything we needed and more. Parking just outside and there was a short walk to Belper mill and gardens next to river. Excellent comms from owners. Very happy and would return.

The cottage is quietly tucked away off the road and surprisingly spacious. It contained everything we needed during our stay, all very clean and comfortable and lots of hot water. Easy walking distance to good restaurants and takeaways. The owner is very accommodating and helpful and allowed us to extend our stay by an extra day at short notice. The local industrial history is fascinating and we strongly recommend a tour of the North Mill.

Great cottage, in a lovely town, with great walks. The cottage itself came fully stocked with everything you could need, including shampoo and shower wash, kitchen was also stocked up with tea and coffee, and fresh milk in the fridge, and all the appliances you could need. We were pleasantly surprised.

A lovely place to stay, I would definitely come here again.
Such a cosy place, more spacious than I was expecting as well! Had everything you'd need in my eyes, definitely appreciated the milk in the fridge for us. The streaming services are also a nice touch, overall we really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Fell in love with this cottage from the start, which was homely, comfortable and very clean. Couple of well sized downstairs living rooms that we were able to relax in at the end of long walking days spent in the Peak District and surrounding countryside. We were particularly impressed with how well appointed the property was, with a great new kitchen, sizeable upstairs bathroom with a good powerful shower/bath, and two great double bed rooms with heaps of space and storage.
The owners have obviously given a lot of thought as to what travellers might have forgotten to pack for their stay, as we continually came across supplies arranged for the benefit of the traveller i.e. additional toiletries, spices and condiments, breakfast cereals and a welcoming fridge pack of milk, eggs and fruit juice!
On a couple of rainy nights we even lit the log burner (logs and coals all provided!) and enjoyed a cosy night playing games, listening to music and watching DVD's from a wide selection provided.
We used the cottage as a base to explore the beautiful Derwent Valley, and also a little further afield, over the Staffs border to Hollinsclough, where we climbed Chrome Hill, and we also completed the circuitous route around Carsington Water (8.5 miles), which boasts a wealth of bird and wild-life. Disappointed not to spot ospreys, but we saw pretty much everything else.
The immediate location is ideal too. Situated close to the impressive Strutt Mill, where we were lucky enough to spot six peregrine falcons nesting on its massive north face!, and with the Derwent River proving a majestic back-drop. It’s only a short walk into the town of Belper with its surprisingly impressive range of supermarkets, restaurants and eateries. We tried Tom Yum (Thai) restaurant located in the basement of the Strutt Mill. Food was great and plenty of it. For a slightly more expensive evening, try Armando's at the Talbot Hotel (Italian and European) - less than 200 metres from the property, they have a fantastic menu and the service was excellent. Nonno's, (Italian and European) - a slighter longer walk into Belper Town Centre served up great pasta and is so popular we were lucky to get a table without booking.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would definitely like to make a return booking!

We had an amazing experience at this cottage from the initial enquiry to the end of our stay where we really didn't want to leave.
Correspondence from the owners was spot on from the beginning. I emailed lots of questions all of which were answered promptly and also spoke on the telephone before arrival. Upon arrival we were shown around by one of the owners and told where everything was and what we could help ourselves to. The cottage is in a gorgeous condition recently refurbished, more than enough space for our family of 4 an extra bed had been made up in the children's room - we hadn't requested it as I was going to get my two children to share the double but it had been done nethertheless - which was fab! We had milk on arrival and were told to help ourselves to anything in the kitchen, cereals, basic food stuffs, condiments etc which was a lovely touch, there were toiletries in the bathroom, spare toothbrushes and shower gel etc that again we could help ourselves to if required. There was a great box of toys for my 3 yr old and lots of games and books to look through/play also. Everything was very clean and thought out, outside there is a lovely area that is bigger than it looks on the pictures to sit outside a have a glass of wine/dinner - we were lucky enough to have the weather to do that! Parking is not a problem either - you can unload outside the cottage and then a 30 sec walk up the hill is a parking area. Great location, lovely views - and Beper is a nice place with most things you would need. Morrisons, lovely deli called Fresh Basil - and lots of other shops for a town. We lit a fire twice whilst there even though we didn't need it we just couldn't resist - plenty of wood provided etc just helped ourself. Plenty of bedding and towels provided so no need to bring your own. There is no wifi but good signal for 4g on both EE and Vodafone should you need it but for us it was a perfect excuse to switch off for a change and if you are a BT customer there is the the BT fon available too...all in all, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant - was very sad to leave - thank you to Anne and Roy the owners - a perfect week with great memories made!
