Shipwatch oceanfront condominiums, offered by Hodnett Cooper, have been a favorite family destination for many years. With just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community ideal for both weekend getaways and multiple month escapes.
Each residence features two bedrooms, two full baths, a combined living, dining, and kitchen area, and a private balcony.
Community amenities include boardwalk access to the heart of St. Simons' sand beaches, a swimming pool, volleyball area, large grass lawn, outdoor grills and complimentary in-room high speed internet service.
Though this community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this condo. The kitchen and living room area have been recently updated giving it a fresh look. The bedrooms and bathrooms could use some updating. The biggest problems with this facility are the parking and the landscaping. Parking is first come first serve with parking available under the building. There are signs posted that state 2 vehicles can park in 1 stall; however this is not done. The parking areas under the building appear to have been used for storage in some cases and when it rains one side floods, so all the cars on that side are sitting in a few inches of water. Also the facility could really use some pruning and landscaping. There are plants that you have to duck under to access the pool from the main stairs. The walkway out to the beach feels like you are walking through the jungle as many plants are over grown and covering up the railings. Then after you exit the walkway you have quite a walk to get to the actual beach. This path is very muddy and difficult to walk on. The city is building an better walkway from the public beach access nearby which will help when it is completed.

I’ve stayed at ShipWatch several times; the property is lovely and well maintained. The condo is in need of a thorough deep cleaning (e.g. filthy baseboards and corners, etc.) and an update. That being said, I’ll stay at SW again. Hodnett Cooper has excellent communication and prompt responses.

Great beachfront location. The property definitely needs updating but location is good. The mattress in this unit needs to be replaced and the upholstered furniture is looking a little grimy. Property manager was awesome in helping me resolve a reservation issue. Overall good experience. Decent property for the price. We enjoyed our visit!
