Summary:
Where bliss meets the energy of the tropical rainforest and the breathtaking whitewater ocean. We stayed here on vacation and ended up falling so in love with the property that we bought it!
Just 400 meters from the pristine beach of Marino Ballena National Park and nestled in the jungle; a short one-minute drive up from the Costanera Highway. You’ll be greeted by the sights and sounds of colorful birds, howler monkeys, and abundant wildlife. Your private sunset views overlook Isla Ballena (Whale Island), Las Tres Hermanas (The Three Sisters), and the left side of the famous Whale’s Tail. During whale migration season, you’ll be dazzled from the pool deck as the whales and their calves swim right past you. No binoculars necessary. We’ve had days when there was so much wildlife circling the house that guests canceled all their plans just to stay on the property and take roll after roll of photos.
The Space:
This modern and elegant residence is furnished with unique pieces from both local and international artisans, chosen to bring serenity, relaxation, and inspiration. The large covered outdoor living and dining spaces seamlessly flow into the gourmet kitchen and indoor living area—all offering breathtaking views—to create a light, airy, and peaceful space where you can see and hear the sounds of the ocean and jungle from every vantage point. Modern conveniences include Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. The villa features a private, Bali-style yoga shala for complete mind, body, and spirit rejuvenation, as well as a private 1-bedroom casita for those in a romantic mood.
Guest Access:
While most of the Osa region requires a 4x4, our access road is a short distance from the main highway and very well maintained. A 2x2 is sufficient, though for exploring the region, we recommend a 4x4. Before turning onto the property, you’ll stop at our well-lit security gate, which can be accessed with a key or remote. There’s plenty of parking in front of the house. We’re located halfway between Uvita and Ojochal (about 5 miles from each) and 27 miles south of Dominical, with excellent beaches for swimming, beachcombing, and surfing along the way. Grocery stores, gas stations, and fine dining are just minutes away. Beaches are everywhere, and the national park entrances are just minutes away.
The Neighborhood:
The villa features two spacious master bedroom suites with king-size beds, views from every angle, and private balcony space. The master suites include en-suite bathrooms with Bali-style stone vanities and walk-in indoor/outdoor showers. The third bedroom features a jungle view, a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom. The fourth bedroom is our fully air-conditioned private one-bedroom studio, complete with a queen bed, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a living area, a dining area, and a kitchenette. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. For families with young children, the villa may not be suitable for children under age 5 unless they are closely supervised near the pool.
The Bali-inspired Yoga Shala on the property is available for yoga, meditation, and other mind-body-spirit practices. A private yoga instructor is available upon request.
