About this house rental
Located on the "gold coast of Costa Rica" directly above two of the most beautiful
beaches in the country. This is a private home, sitting 200 feet above the beach on two acres with beautiful landscaping filled with wildlife, trees, flowers and spectacular views.
Hear the roar of the surf, listen to the monkeys in the mangrove below or sing along with the birds in the trees... this the best of all worlds. Whether you choose to take a quick walk to the two beaches (a few minutes on foot, literally 300 paces from the house!) or drive to one of the many beaches located down the road (a few minutes by car), this property is a perfect to retreat and relax.
Playa Prieta sits directly below our house and has large shaded areas on the beach with bigger, crashing waves. Playa Penca can easily be accessed from a footpath on the road to Prieta, and is known for its soft waves, boogie boarding and great family gathering place. Or you can relax in our private pool with a cabana for shade during the day.
The house has 3000 square feet of well-appointed living space. Perfect for entertaining the family or for some well-deserved quiet time, this property guarantees a wonderful relaxing vacation. All bedrooms and living room feature banks of floor-to-ceiling windows, furniture, and an interior designed for comfort and relaxation.
The sunsets are beyond description - especially from the terrace. Not only does that expansive terrace offers a lovely place to read, chat, or dine - it also the perfect place to gather for a spectacular panoramic sunset.
Our gardener/caretaker lives on site because the property requires constant tending and trimming; and a housekeeper appears 6 days a week to do your laundry and straighten up the house. The property is fenced and gated, with similar properties alongside it - very quiet and secure.
Close to market for those who prefer to cook or close many restaurants if you prefer to dine out.

We had a wonderful stay, we had a few questions along the way and Jorge and Mindy were always quick to answer! We enjoyed the pool and cabana area after long days at the beach, and it was such a treat to have our laundry taken care of by Maria.

We loved our stay here. The home is spacious & well kept, & in a good central location to many of the places we wanted to visit along the coast. Ernesto the caretaker was on site the whole time & helped us when needed. There was one day that our water line broke, but Ernesto had it fixed within a few hours. Maria was amazing; we were told there would be someone coming to clean/pick up, but we had no idea she would come daily, clean the entire house/pool/patio, & insist on doing all our personal laundry & dishes. What a treat! We especially enjoyed the pool area & spending time on the terrace overlooking the amazing ocean views & witnessing the abundance of tropical birds. The only “drawbacks” were the non-air conditioned common living area & kitchen (the bedrooms are cooled very well), but apparently this is the standard in Costa Rican homes. Also, the beach is more than the 300 paces away as advertised, it is more like a 10-minute walk. The nearest beaches were our favorites of all the beaches we visited during our stay, & it’s a very easy walk other than the steep driveway. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay & I would highly recommend it!

The view absolutely took our breath away from the moment we arrived, and the bedrooms are comfortable and cool for restful nights. With restaurants and beaches just a short walk away, the location is hard to beat. A favorite morning ritual became sitting outside listening to the birds — especially the one that sounds exactly like a car alarm. You'll know it when you hear it!The entire team made our stay special. The owners provided great information ahead of our trip, and onsite, the caretaker, housekeeper, and property manager were attentive and kind. When we got a flat tire, Ernesto and Jorge helped us change it and directed us to a nearby shop — that kind of hospitality is rare. The sweet on-site dogs were a charming bonus we loved encountering throughout the week.A few things to know:-The main living area and kitchen are not air conditioned and can get quite warm.-The driveway is a steep incline with no sidewalks — walkable, but use caution if you have physical limitations, are with young kids, or it's very hot. We drove most of the week.-The third bedroom has a separate floor and entry, great for privacy but worth noting for families with young children.Overall, a memorable stay with spectacular views and genuine hospitality. We'd absolutely return!

Short walk to 3 beautiful beaches and the town of Potrero where we enjoyed several breakfasts at the local Soda and a variety of meals at the many restaurants offered.
