Spend your days skiing, hiking, and fishing when you book a getaway to this riverfront home with a private deck, an outdoor fireplace, and a gorgeous location on the banks of the Sandy River. Wonderfully situated in a woodland neighborhood in Rhododendron, this rustic and elegant two-level home is less than six miles from the Resort at the Mountain's golf courses, 15 miles from Mt. Hood Skibowl, 21 miles from the Timberline Lodge and Ski Area, and 26 miles from Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort.

Once featured in the pages of Better Homes and Gardens, this warm and lofty home makes a comfortable escape for small families and groups of friends looking to enjoy the beauty of Mt. Hood. With two-story ceilings and a stunning wall of windows that frame the forest and the Sandy River, the living space is full of thoughtful and homey details. Curl up with a novel on the sofa, or enjoy an afternoon game of Scrabble in the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace.

And although the tempting dishes at the Rendezvous Grill are only five miles away, you'll cook comfortably in the open and well-equipped full kitchen. Grind your own Mt. Hood Roasters coffee beans each morning and enjoy family breakfasts at the farmhouse dining table.

As the sun sets each evening, pour yourself a glass of wine and soak in the sweeping river views on the back deck. Feeling a bit cold? You'll find an outdoor fireplace for those chilly mountain nights.

To make your stay all the more relaxing and convenient, Alder Wood is equipped with a private washer/dryer. This home also has a TV and DVD player. Upstairs, you'll find two loft-style adjoining bedrooms with one queen bed and one twin bed, although a door does not separate them. WiFi is also provided.

It was a beautifully curated home! loved all the details in the design, easy access to river and a cute lil black kitty that cuts through the yard. Wish there were more curtains on windows that faced other houses and there was bass we could feel in our chests while sitting on the back patio, it was from across the river and only during midday.

Stayed here to have a quiet family NYE getaway and was not disappointed. Loved all the woodsy/mountain/western decor and despite not being as remote as we had initially anticipated (this is located within a community of cabins and rentals) it was very quiet, we did not run into any other renters/Neighbors the whole time, the river view and access was great, and the kitchen was totally up to par for us to enjoy home-cooked meals. Would definitely stay here anain, and hope to!

Nice location, lots of clutter without usable space for our things. The lack of a hairdryer sucked, and wDnt handled. Even though I reached out .

Cute home well equipped. Enjoy the back windows with the creek in the back. Easily found and nicely, located to amenities. beds could use a little improvement. And even though I didn't have the opportunity to meet the neighbors, I sure did get to see and hear them during the weekend. Overall, a great space and we really enjoyed ourselves.

This house is very charming and thoughtfully decorated. We mostly really loved it, especially the peace and quiet from the city. So for the case of managing expectations.. the listing is very dated. There are not sweeping views of the river, nor a cute Crosley vintage stove, and the tv is very much in the living room. The listing is confusing about coffee.. there isn't any. The cooking amenities are sub par if you really love and plan to cook all your meals like we did. Very dull knives (bent wonky blades), scratched teflon pans..we made it work. My point is...on more than one occasion we caught ourselves saying "hmm, the listing made it sound like....." A lot of the issues are pretty simple, inexpensive upgrades that would make such a huge difference. (Other than the "sweeping river views"). The partial very partial river view was nice.. and the sound of the river was peaceful. We traveled with our 2yo. It was manageable. But parents be mindful that there are lots of cute fragile vintage things for their curious hands.
