Welcome to The Syd. Set in a hidden paradise just minutes from the French Quarter, The Syd offers six poolside suites for large group getaways.
This 6BA/3.5BA space features an incredible living area perfect for entertaining. The ceiling soars to over 21 ft in height and the oversized windows offer beautiful views of the 110+ year old live oak tree and pool outside.

The Space:
In the living room, you’ll enjoy a spacious seating area with two large sectionals, two bar tops that can fit 8 people, and a huge 85” TV. In the dining room, you'll be able to host a lavish banquet on the custom built pecan dining table that can comfortably seat 16 people or watch a game on a 2nd 85 inch TV.
This suite was inspired by local street parades and surprises and the Caribbean vibes that influence them. Throughout the space, you'll find an incredible 2-story mural depicting a Mardi Gras parade (featuring a custom from the artist and other real life figures), a plywood cutout and photographs depicting a Second Line (a spontaneous walking parade), acrylic paintings of colorful local homes and fruit, and a hanging installation of photography printed on Caribbean fabric.
The Syd revolves around its outdoor space and you'll have access to the heated outdoor pool, cabana, hot tub, sauna, Finnish "bucket" shower, regular outdoor shower, and outdoor kitchen. Note that these outdoor spaces (pool, hot tub, sauna, and grill areas) are shared with the other suites at The Syd.
The space has 6 Bedrooms and 3.5 Bathrooms.

The Neighborhood:
The Syd is centrally located between the French Quarter and Garden District. There are coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance and you’ll be a one minute walk from the famous St. Charles Streetcar which you can take to both the French Quarter and Garden District.
Getting Around:
Streetcar: We're a 1 min walk to the St. Charles Streetcar which goes to both the French Quarter and Garden District.
Driving & Walking Times:
Downtown/Warehouse District: 1 minute drive or 5 minute walk
French Quarter: 6 minute drive or 20 minute walk
Garden District: 5 minute drive or 18 minute walk
Superdome: 3 min drive or 15 min walk
Parking: There's free on-street parking and you’re allowed to park overnight.

Note that the outdoor spaces (pool, hot tub, and grill areas) are shared with the other suites at The Syd.
This unit is on the 2nd floor; there is no elevator and stairs are required to reach all rooms in this suite.
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (10pm-8am) are strictly enforced.
All outdoor spaces (pool, hot tub, sauna, grill area) hours are open from 8am-10pm daily.
For the security of our guests, we have external recording devices (security cameras) located in the common areas. These are exterior only.
This property is equipped with a noise monitoring device. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations, it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels). This device also monitors occupancy and cigarette smoke.

Based on the listing pictures, I was a little worried The Syd was going to be "too good to be true" because the listing makes the facilities look so nice - but let me tell you, the pictures don't even do The Syd justice for how AMAZING it is once you actually get there.
I booked all four units (in the L shaped building - A, B, C, and D units)) for an annual team meeting, which consisted of 22 guests. Not only were we very comfortably accommodated, we actually had tons of extra room to spread out throughout the property.
I was so impressed by the quality of all of the fixtures/furnishings of The Syd. From the murals on the walls (which are stunningly beautiful), to the comfort of the beds/couches/seating, to the pool area (saltwater pool was a huge bonus); The Syd is beyond outstanding, in every way possible. Not only was the host extremely responsive, but there is actually staff on site at The Syd every day, who are all very friendly and accommodating.
I can't speak to staying at the Syd while there are also other guests at the property, but I can say, without question, that in the many years I have booked VRBOs for my team's annual meeting; The Syd was BY FAR the most amazing place we have stayed. To a person, everyone on my team was totally dazzled by how unique and fun The Syd accommodations were.
