Its location is strategic: in the very center of the city, in the immediate vicinity of Piazza Don Sturzo, the end of numerous buses to reach all the major monuments and museums of the city (with the 806 you reach Mondello Lido, one of the most beautiful d 'Italy); As well as two major Taxi stations, Port and Politeama Theater, in the main square of the city. Features of the holiday apartment.
On the fourth floor (without elevator) of a building of the early '900, this penthouse has 5 sleeping places so divided: one single room, one double bedroom and one living room with double sofa bed. The 2 bedrooms are autonomous, living with a double sofa bed makes it possible to make the most of this room in the heart of the house. A large living room and a comfortable bathroom with a shower / bath complete the apartment's amenities. Each bedroom is equipped with the necessary kit (sheets, pillowcases, pillows, but also bedspreads and extra blankets). The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, coffee makers, dining table and breakfast kit.
In the spring / summer period (and rarely, with some luck, even in the warm autumn and winter days) all meals can be served outdoors in the first large terrace on the floor of the apartment , Under the roof, immersed in the green of large plants, in the suggestive colors of the neighborhood, in an extraordinary and unique frame. The apartment also has a second terrace on the solarium, also planted and furnished, equipped with a light and water system, where you can sunbathe or spend the coolest hours enjoying the view of all Borgo Vecchio.

The terrace garden.
It is the identity of the home, its distinctive element, its essence. Pine, Jakarande, Pomelie, Palm trees, Ficus, Nightlife, Ferns, Gelsomini, large fatty plants: a spectacle of Mediterranean nature in the center of town. A true secret garden, where it is pleasant to rest, letting look at this world of essences, scents, leaves of countless forms. The spouses Ferdinando and Cettina have cared for every detail, breeding these plants from seed. This is the peculiarity of this terrace / garden: every plant was born on that terrace by a seed harvested in Palermo, on the street, in the public gardens, in the squares of this city where exotic trees come from far , Finding an ideal habitat for their development. The climate in Palermo allows living terraces nine months a year. The owners personally take care of this real botanical field, representative of their city.

Our stay at Concetta's apartment was excellent. The apartment is spacious and has all the amenities that you could need. The beds were very comfortable and the terrace was huge and perfect for the evening drinking wine and easing cheese and olives. Concetta was on hand when we needed her and gave us lots of information about the local area and buses.

We stayed in Palermo for a wine business trip and spent the majority of our 3 days on the road. Using the terrace, Wi-Fi and desks were essential to us. 2 separated bedrooms also good. As with most large cities in Italy, parking is always a challenge so we used the paid parking 2 blocks east of the apartment. If you want Sicilian culture, not a tourist culture, this is the place to be since the neighborhood is all Sicilians going about with their own lifestyle, day and night. Palermo is also known to be the street food capital in Sicily.

The exterior surroundings were scary for 2 senior women. Trash all over the street and sidewalks. Men sitting on the sidewalk talking, smoking and drinking beer. Once inside the dark entry there was, trash on floor, stucco coming off the walls, and bad odors. As you make the climb up 80 stairs, you hear the occupants yelling, babies crying, and smell cigarette smoke. The overall appearance of the inside of the apartment wasn't bad, except the filthy cushions on the blue and white sofa. The apartment is very spacious, but decor and linens are "tired". Cushions on the chaise lounge chairs need replaced. Unpleasant odor in the double bedroom and the AC leaked water. Bedspreads smelled like they needed washing.Friday morning when we left the streets and sidewalks were being cleared of trash. This gave a much more pleasant impression and we learned the men were harmless. The hostess and her son were helpfull when asked. The rate was inexpensive, which is perhaps why more is not done to keep the place up.Location was decent.
