About this house rental
Sailors house is a traditional stone built house in the center of the well known village Rakalj. It is the place where you find Istrian tradition, great hospitality and beautiful nature in one place. Sailors house has it's own courtyard with two parking spaces, olive garden and external stone built shower. Outside there is also a toilet, sink and a washing machine.
The house is 70 m2 big, it has ground floor, 35m2, with living room, kitchen, bathroom, stairs and a fireplace. On a first floor, also 35 m2, there are two bedrooms and a small hall.
The house is traditionally decorated, stone + wood, with many ornaments like old sewing machine, navy knots, ship barometers, recalling to the great maritime history of Rakalj. Also it is fully equipped with TV SAT and WiFi connection on demand.

The house is greatly located on the center of Rakalj. The house offers all what is needed with a space to take a shower outside, a bbq and place to eat outside. Overall we had a very nice stay.

We spent an enjoyable week in this pretty rental home. We were there off season when the temperatures were cool, and it rained most of the week. The beautiful stone fireplace warmed the downstairs well, and helped us to enjoy our long days indoors. The kids appreciated the games that were provided in the house. The upstairs is plain, but the beds are comfortable, and the upstairs space heater warmed that area sufficiently. The bathroom is tiny, and the shower a bit grungy...that was definitely our least favorite aspect of the house. The kitchen is ok for simple stovetop meals. We cooked in most nights and found it met our needs. There is a nice table outdoors if you have good weather, and a nice bathroom outside as well.
The owner was extremely helpful, happy to bring additional firewood, make a dinner reservation, even pick up a charger cord for our phone when ours bit the dust. His hospitality and assistance was much appreciated, and really enhanced our enjoyment of the rental.
If you are looking for a home near the beach, but away from the crowds, this is a good option.

We stayed at the sailors house for 10 days in August 2010. It was absolutely fantastic. The house is great for children, the village is quiet and unspoilt with lovely beaches but still well provisioned (shops, a great restaurant) for tourists. Josip, the owner, went out of his way to help us and make sure we had a good time. I couldn't recommend this enough
