"Esther and Ebi were wonderful. They replied to our every concern. The place is large, and had access to nice laundry facilities in the basement. Friendly neighborhood, and close to everything we need..."

The pictures don’t match the actual rooms. It has been sloppily repainted with white walls and black trim where the white paint didn’t brush against it. Front door has a missing pane that’s been taped up with cardboard. Also second inner entrance door only opens 60 degrees. The passageway way from the entry room to the rest of the unit only is 18 inches wide. The garden/playground is littered with sticks, broken glass, and is just overgrown weeds. The sofa was soiled, and we were accused of breaking the recliner which was not working properly when we arrived. We have one at home and are aware of how the footrest should go down with minimal effort. The hardwood floors were actually laminate which was peeling in spots. I had to move the microwave in order to plug in the coffee maker and toaster because it was directly in front of the only outlet at the kitchen counter. Black hand prints were at the top of the sliding doors and blinds were broken in the kitchen with no curtains to cover them. The only positive was that the appliances were all fairly new and clean. We left six days early and forfeited what we had paid just to get home to a place we could relax. In response, we were accused of damaging the chair.

Our stay ended up being fine. It definitely was not the worst place I have stayed as well as it was not the best place I have stayed. It is a very old property that could be a fantastic place to stay with a little TLC. If you had to do anything in the bathroom you had to pull up on the door to make it latch. The amenities were on the minimal side. We only had a couple of day stay, but there was only two rolls of toilet paper left for us. But to be fair, we did not run out. There were four of us and there were only four towels. The neighborhood is not what I would consider bad but if I had kids with me I might not be letting them play outside. We could hear sounds outside at night, but there’s nothing that the owner of the property could do about that just trying to be informative. The beds were a little firm. It did have very good Wi-Fi. It was very convenient to get downtown. The living room was pretty homey and all of the appliances look new. It was very easy to check in. I hope this was informative for people who choose to stay here in the future

The Pros: Adorable little duplex! Close to the Museum of Art, Lakeview Cemetery, parks and downtown attractions. Spacious kitchen and gas stove. The beds were comfy, the sofa was comfy. Solid WiFi connection. Standing floor fans in each bedroom! Neighborhood was quiet. The cons: the doors don’t latch closed - anywhere. The bathroom door had to be wedged with a washcloth to keep it closed. (Or your foot lol) No CENTRAL air conditioning - in the winter, no problem. There is a small portable unit in the lounge, which works well as long as the doors are closed. The back yard/parking area was littered with a good deal of broken glass. Wasn’t a spare set of linens for the sofa, had to find a shop to buy a cheap set. 😂 Also, outside of a bar of soap, bottle of dawn, and a toothbrush/paste - there are no other hygiene items if you forget something. I’d stay again!

We had a great stay! Very convenient location, apartment is only 15 to 20 minutes away from the zoo, aquarium, museums and lake! Clean and quiet, and the host was very attentive to any needs!
