Makrigialos: High standard property, studio flat by the sea

Makrygialos is a fantastic location for a get away from it all holiday. It is very beautiful with great beaches and a small harbour with restaurants and bars. Ikaros Villa is in a great location beside a large and quiet beach and only 5 minutes walk from the harbour. The studio is large and functional but was very clean and well kept. Nota was very helpful with fresh towels, bedding ad cleaning as required. Also there is a good strong shower with lots of hot water (which is not always the case in Greece1) and a ceiling fan as well as an air conditioning unit. The terrace is small but framed by lovely flowers and with a great view. I recommend Ikaros Villa and Makrygialos for a chilled out experience of Crete.

"The place (Makrigialos) is a small village, far away from the mass touristic areas in Crete. The room was exactly what we expected, the place is quiet but close to the charming seaport (5 minutes walking). The owner is a very kind person and will help you in anything you ask for.... Ask her where is the beach with a cave placed about one kilometer past Makrigialos!!! the best beach where to go in Crete! :D Dont forget to visit Ierapetra's old town streets, to drive to all the east side of the island, visit the mountain towns and monastery, relax in Olympio cafe talking with Dimitri, discover the Palm beach (North-East), and taste all the great cretan foods. We recommend you also, if you want to visit "ALL" Crete island, to reserve 2 or 3 days in somewhere on the west side of the island, it's too far to go from Makrigialos in an one day trip. If you only want to relax and stay in a nice place, this apartment in Makrigialos is your place. Mr. Joan F."
