About this house rental
Unspoiled nature, traditional village life, stunning vegetation, and perhaps the most beautiful village square in Crete (delicious food, reasonable prices, a fantastic atmosphere late into the night)—Kato Chorio offers it all. If you’re looking to relax far from the tourist crowds, enjoy hiking in the surrounding, truly impressive mountain ranges, love biking through unspoiled landscapes, or simply want to discover beautiful beaches and coves within easy reach, this is the perfect place for you. The hospitable locals welcome every traveler with open arms.
Kato Chorio’s location is exceptional because the village lies at the narrowest point of Crete’s north-south axis, and neither coast—with their stunning beaches—is a long drive away.
By car, bike, or bus, you can reach the town of Ierapetra (7 kilometers away) in just a few minutes, where you’ll find a wide variety of shopping options and the town’s beaches.
The Accommodation
The house, decorated in a deliberate “shabby chic” style, is located one minute from the village square on a quiet side street. In the basement, there is a bedroom with two single beds, which can of course be pushed together upon request. The living room, equipped with a TV, Wi-Fi, and a pull-out sleeper sofa, connects the bedroom to the cozy kitchen (washing machine, dishwasher). Behind it is an open bathroom with a shower, from which a staircase leads to the first floor.
On the upper level of the house is a cozy bedroom with a small, separate bathroom. The spacious rooftop terrace offers a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and the romantic chapel at the summit. With a little imagination, you can even see a small part of the sea near Ierapetra. ;-)
