House in Grimaldi. Spectacular view on the French Riviera with rooftop terrace!

Hi We recharged our batteries at this beautiful remodeled home in the heart of Italian village Grimaldi superiore. I looked forward to be woken up to spectacular l views and the home was perfect for sleeping, quiet.Bed was comfortable. Keep in mind there is no grocery store or any restaurants in the village so you will need to make trips to Mentone or Ventimiglia which is close but you will need to find parking. My husband who was a Navy navigator and excellent driver had difficult time going though very narrow arches to park in a very narrow parking space. We were told We could leave car in the village however the whole street was parked with cars and when you drive to the property often times road is so narrow that you do not know if someone else is coming down. We managed to scrape rental car the last day and by looking at all cars in village they all have scrapes trying to get through that narrow area. Most homes have iron on their windows due to constant refugee influx of people going through there trying to cross the border but We felt safe at the home. The view is spectacular but you have to have a car or walk up hill 45 minutes steep hill and each time you leave property you worry about your car getting scraped. We got extra car insurance.We reserved Fiat but were given slightly bigger car and this seems to be common. My strong recommendation is to use scooter or motorcycle to get up. Get insurance on the car. Unforgettable and worth it.

No surprises whatsoever: The ad didn't promise too much. It is as beautiful as the pictures promise. The parking was as difficult as other travelers had mentioned.The owner was very helpful.

I cannot say enough about this beautiful apartment. It is beautifully decorated with great care to detail. This apartment was fully equipped with every necessity imaginable. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was large and had great water pressure and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The views were beyond spectacular too! At one point, we reached out to the owner Nadia and she immediately responded to our question. Word of advice, rent a small vehicle. The offered parking spot was too small for our large car. The apartment is very modern and very well equipped. View is extra special from the two terraces. As you may have read, you really do need a small car to get through the four arches and to turn your car around. Don’t even think about bringing a medium or large car up this road, especially right to the apartment.
