Amazing view !

The view was amazing and the everyone on the premise as well. Be aware as it’s high up the mountain so non experienced driver it can be a tad complicated. Also you definitely need a car as again it’s far from the city and therefore nothing around. But besides that our stay was great!

Amazing place and people

Beautiful, lovely and clean place, the gentleman who greeted us on arrival was very nice and helpful, he helped us with luggage, showing us around and was always around to help. Most friendly and accomdating place I've stayed and will definitely be back for these reasons. 10/10 - Thank you very much x

Picture perfect in Menton

The lovely large terrace and panoramic view were exactly as described. Wonderful spacious bathroom and comfortable bed completed the picture. Kitchen is small but functional... We were able to prepare some nice meals albeit with only 1 in the kitchen at a time. Staff were helpful and very friendly.

The drive up can be disconcerting until you get used to it. We found the best times to avoid traffic on the narrowest sections were 10:30 am ish going out and around 9:00pm returning.

Incredible views accompanied by even more incredible hosts

We stayed at Caterina after previous accommodation plans fell through, but it was like fate wanted us to get there! Perched (very) high upon a hill in Menton, Emilio and Patty’s place has unparalleled and truly incredible views. Our apartment was also very welcoming, with a huge bathroom, air conditioning, fast wi-fi, a fully-equipped kitchen (including coffee!) and a balcony with chairs and tables close-by. Above all, however, it was the hosts’ hospitality that made this trip unforgettable — they drove us to and from Menton every day, took us out dancing and entertained us constantly. Thank you Emilio and Patty, we cannot wait to be back for another cappuccino speciale!

Off the beaten track!

The views are stunning, a bath for our youngest one, outside patio, spacious apartment. Well equipped with coffee as well. Quite near the beautiful village of Castellar which has a distinctly Italian feel.

It's way up a mountainside, a long way from any shops so you must arrive stocked up with food. If you suffer from vertigo, then be warned! However, the hosts kindly offered to cook dinner & provide breakfast which was a savior!

Exceptional

Our stay in Caterina was our favourite holiday ever and we can't wait to go back! The hosts are so lovely and helpful. Booking.com says the beach is 1.5km away, but that is in a direct line. But it didn't matter! The host, Patty, was more than happy to take us down to the town every day. We have never felt more relaxed than sitting on the patio playing cards and having a BBQ. The views are amazing, and you can smell the fresh rosemary that grows on the hills. The air conditioning is perfect, and the WiFi is also perfect. The host provides regular clean towels and toiletries. You won't regret staying here. The hosts take a lot of pride in their property and take a great effort in making you feel welcome. We didn't feel like guests at all but as welcome friends. We are definitely looking at coming back again in the near future.

Surprising and delightful find

Great view of Menton and sea from this hilltop location. Lovely to smell the fragrant air in the evening and to wake up to fantastic view in morning. Comfortable small apartment. Towels etc thoughtfully provided. Great big bathroom and shower. Helpful hosts. It’s a long hot walk into town - did it there and back with the children on one day and it was fun but not to be repeated. I would stay here again just for the view.

Slightly weird internal arrangement with locked doors but pretty safe I think.

Exciting Views -

This property was very clean and tidy on arrival and the hand over was without incident from Patricia the resident handyman, who has a good awareness of English. Breathtaking views as per the advert. Excellent Air conditioning! Coffee (sachets for the electric coffee maker), tea, sugar - washing up things are provided (no washing up bowl or plug for the sink) and a very good selection of pans, knives, forks, spoons and plates etc.

The access road was hair raising as it is a single track road with intermittent crash barriers - onto a vertical drop. The road itself could do with a resurface. Also, the roads up to the property from Menton, are quite narrow and have many parked cars on them. This property isn't recommended should you have vertigo or an active fear of heights - as the steps down to the property from the road are very steep and there are no handrails - apart from holding onto the gate and the wall. (Fabulous view of Montecarlo though)! Caterina is one of two holiday homes in close proximity along the same narrow walkway overlooking the main motorway into and out of Italy. The noise can be blocked out by closing the shutters when trying to sleep. Another issue with the location of the other let - with both of their doors almost side by side, there is a serious lack of privacy. The front door to Caterina is via the bedroom. This is of clear glass double doors and should anyone be passing can see directly into your room. Even by opening the shutters so they blocked the passageway, did not stop unwelcome visitors. The layout of the rooms here are little odd. With the main entrance way in the bedroom, to get to the lounge and the kitchen one has to go via the bathroom (very clean). A little difficult should someone be using the facilities! Decisions have to be made to decide first if you want to go to the bedroom and out or if you want to stay in the lounge! On the whole not an unpleasant experience.

Traumhafte Aussicht, wunderbare Gastgeber

Sehr freundliche und offene Gastgeber, die vor Ort sind. Überwältigendende Gastfreundschaft. Extrem hilfsbereit. Gastgeber sind mehrsprachig. Wie hat es schon jemand formuliert. Die Lage ist Fluch und Segen zugleich. Die Aussicht ist jedenfalls phänomenal. Parkplatz vorhanden. Genug Platz. Ganz witzige, individuelle und kreative Einrichtung und Gestaltung. Gute Dusche. Betten waren bequem.

Außenanlage etwas ungepflegt. Terrasse für mich nicht nutzbar. Es roch immer wieder nach Kanal. Der Lärm der Autobahn war für mich schwer auszuhalten. Die Appartments sind eigenwillig konzipiert. Wir hatten ein Durchgangsbad. Die Küche hatte kein Fenster. Wenig Stauraum. Keine einzige Ablage im Bad. Keine Haken für Handtücher. Wenig Ausstattung in der Küche. Kochen kann man nur eingeschränkt. Wir haben auf Nachfrage aber sofort zwei Teebecher bekommen. Ausstattung kann man aber leicht nachbessern 😉. Die lange, kurvige und enge Anfahrt ist machbar. Muss man sportlich nehmen. Ich empfehle es aber auch nicht bei Dunkelheit. Wir sind immer in Richtung Italien ab- und aufgefahren. Da ist weniger Gegenverkehr und weniger Autos an den Straßenrändern. Wer jünger ist und auf Komfort nicht zu viel Wert legt, ist dort gut aufgehoben. Genießt die tolle Gastfreundschaft und Aussicht.

Bel accueil de la part du gardien sympathique et serviable

La salle de bain est située entre la chambre et la salle à manger...pas pratique lorsqu elle est occupée Le bruit de l 'autoroute qui passe en contrebas extrêmement invivable,dommage la vue du balcon est magnifique mais on ne peut que boire un café,le bruit est pénalisant. Fin septembre on peut dormir fenêtre fermée mais sinon c obligation de dormir sous la clim Sdb vieillissante

Nous sommes venues pour une occasion difficile .( décès soudain d un membre de la famille) Merci aux propriétaires de l etablissement qui se sont montrés très compréhensifs et plein de humanité. Ma mère et moi n étions pas véhiculées. Les propriétaires nous ont conduits à moultes reprises au centre ville. Cela nous a beaucoup facilité les choses en cette période très difficile. A noter également un lieu charmant et propre. Mention spéciale à Patricia qui est une femme exceptionnelle. Et merci aussi à Emilio pour sa compréhension

Locali puliti e accoglienti. Vista molto bella,panoramica su Menton e riviera. Personale gentile attento e disponibile. Parcheggio. Ottimo wifi. Luogo isolato, l'autostrada non disturba.

Dehor distaccato da appartamento e quindi poco pratico se si vuole mangiare fuori. Il dehor è comunque ben tenuto e fornito di sdraio tavolo e sedie. Letto matrimoniale con materasso non comodo

Csodás kilátás, mesebeli táj, kényelmes, de egyszerű apartman, rugalmas szállásadó, nem csinált ügyet abból, hogy még egy fő csatlakozott hozzánk. Álomnyaralás!

Szigorúan zárni kellett az ajtót, nehezen megközelíthető a város, rengeteget autóztunk.

La struttura presenta più di un appartamento. A noi è stato consegnato un "appartamento" INDECENTE, non conforme a quello prenotato. I 50 mq pagati nella realtà erano circa 30, mancava quindi uno spazio (o comunque una stanza). Infatti in un unico ambiente erano ammassati mobili fatiscenti, vecchi e rotti: tavolino traballante con 4 sedie ricoperte da teli; al posto del divano un letto, ad una piazza e 1/2, che si reggeva su una struttura precaria; l'altro letto presentava un materasso di gommapiuma sul quale si sprofondava; l'armadio era costituito da un piccolissimo mobile verticale sul quale era addossato il tavolino sopra descritto; una madia orizzontale senza sportelli ( quelli presenti rotti). Il cucinino piccolissimo, senza finestra, né areazione, stoviglie, piatti etc..tutto fatiscente. Anche la porta d'ingresso presentava una serratura rotta! Un vero incubo. I gestori nulla hanno fatto dopo le nostre immediate lamentele...

Les matelas beaucoup trop mous Bruit de l’autoroute mais peu audible si les fenêtres sont fermés et la Clim en marche Route sinueuse pentue pour y arriver mais c’est le seul moyen d’avoir cette vue incroyable

Parfait, on a manqués de rien !

Le personnel très gentils ! On est restés 2 jours de plus qui n’était pas conter sur booking et Patricia nous a gentiment accueilli et surtout elle c’est adaptée a notre budget. Merci à vous ! La vue est incroyable, on a bénéficié de l’appartement avec une table dehors ! Ça a rajouté un charme supplémentaire

La route pour accéder a l’établissement est pas très commode mais ça n’a pas était un problème !

Nette Unterkunft mit wunderschöner Aussicht

Die Lage auf dem Hang ist wunderschön, die Unterkunft war sauber und hatte neben der Klimaanlage auch einen großen Kühlschrank

Die Straßen um zur Unterkunft zu kommen waren teilweise recht eng aber auch nicht zu eng um an am Seitenrand geparkte Autos kaum mehr vorbeizukommen.

Des personnes extraordinaires, accueillantes, toujours disponibles et souriantes, qui nous ont fait passer de superbes vacances ! Leur accueil chaleureux et sincère, leurs conseils et tout le soutien nécessaire à notre bien-être nous feront revenir avec grand plaisir ! L'emplacement est calme et sécurisé, équipé de tout le nécessaire pour une famille avec deux enfants, dispose d'un grand parking et, surtout, d'un paysage de rêve avec des plantes exotiques, qui vous donnent l'impression d'être dans un jardin botanique, décoré avec goût ! Merci Patricia et Emilio ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Po vratolomni cestici do lepega razgleda

Razgled je fantastičen. Postelja nadvse udobna. Zvečer sediš z vinom na terasi in opazuješ Azurno obalo. Kolesa sva lahko spravila na teraso.

Kuhinjska oprema je minimalistična. Vrata med apartmaji nudijo premalo zasebnosti. Tudi na vratolomno cesto za dostop do apartmaja se je bilo potrebno navaditi.

Bien mais sans plus..

Je ne vais pas me prononcer pour tous les logements car je crois qu'il y en a trois au total mais je parlerais du nôtre. Si vous voulez une vue magnifique pas de souci... Mais dommage que l'autoroute et son flux incessant de véhicules gâchent ce petit coin de paradis... La cuisine est sombre mal éclairée et pas de fenêtre. Un grille pain minuscule pour un logement qui peut accueillir 6 personnes et même pas un tire-bouchon digne de ce nom. Et pas d'eau chaude dans la cuisine, compliqué pour la vaisselle.. je ne peux pas noter l'accueil des propriétaires car c'est une autre personne qui nous a accueilli... On a croisé Emilio il est sympa mais nous n'avons pas vu Patricia..
