About this villa rental
Imagine yourself staying at Villa Vorno, traditional stone house surrounded by olive trees and moutains. We spent 4 nights at this property, but wish we'd booked for longer! A family of 6 (3 teens and 1 tween) we have booked a villa holiday every year for 12+yrs!, and we found Villa Vorno was the perfect set up for us.
The panoramic view is stunning and the villa is stylish and modern with a nod to traditional Cretan design. The villa was extremely clean with lots of attention to detail.
George was kind enough to meet us after our very late arrival (1am!) and show us the way up the road to the villa. We always hire a car, and your own transport is a must as it is a way off the main road. The location however was ideal for us, with no neighbouring properties staying at Villa Vorno it feels like you are in the heart of Crete. A benefit of its location is that it is slightly cooler than the bottom of the hill, and with the clever design of the villa the outside space offers both sun and shelter with beautiful aspects.
The pool overlooks the view, and was perfect size for us. The pool does not have a poolside deck and you access the pool from one side.
The outside kitchen with bbq and wood fired pizza oven were a big hit with the family! And we enjoyed our meals al fresco looking out.
The service received at Villa Vorno was second to none, and we felt truly looked after (by contrast, we followed the villa stay up with a few nights at a plush all-inclusive hotel - the villa felt far superior!)
We would highly recommend for a truly beautiful Cretan escape for the family.
