Guests will have a private home with lots of private outdoor space, including a large fire pit with a cooking grate and comfy adirondack chairs for relaxing and memorable evenings. We just added a new wrap around patio with an outdoor table/umbrella, a propane grill and string lights for additional outdoor space to enjoy. There is also a picnic table and charcoal grill under the maple tree next to the patio. In addition, guests will have shared access to the Whitewater River. The river and seasonal beach (water-level dependent) is acesssed by walking across a flat lawn and then down a grassy hillside/ river bank.
Note that this is one of two properties we rent out on the river. The river access is in front of the Whitewater River House (https://www.vrbo.com/9471248ha, sleeps 8). Guests wanting river views and a picnic pavillion on the river may prefer that property. Guests preferring more privacy and a bit more upscale acommodations while still having river access will prefer the Yellow Farmhouse. We suggest potential guests compare both properties. It is also possible to rent both places for larger family reunions, etc.

Stayed here to visit our son at Miami University (35 min drive to campus). The setting is beautiful and the yellow farmhouse sits back from the road and from the other rental property, so we had total privacy. Thoughtful set up outside with patio and fire pit. Walk to the river was a bonus. I love to bird watch, and tallied 30 species on day one. Metamora is a cute town nearby. Recommend The Blue Umbrella for breakfast. Lots of hiking around Brookville Lake. House very comfortable and well laid out. Kitchen had everything we needed. Would stay here again.

This property had everything it said in the listing and more. We really enjoyed the farmhouse and privacy it provided. A great place to stay when in this area.

We stayed 3 nights for a golf trip. Worked great for us. 1 bathroom so plan accordingly. Beds were good. Open floor plan with kitchen and living room together made it easy to hang out before bed.
