Located very centrally to shops, thrift stores, restaurants. It was wonderful that the home was pet friendly and had a fenced in yard. I felt very safe walking my dog in the neighborhood also. Would definitely consider staying here again if we are ever back in the Des Moines area.

After booking this rental, I heard nothing from the property manager, which I normally do. I had mentioned that I wanted to have my family over and Anna never replied. We were allowed early access and upon arrival the house was as expected. But one of the first things we noticed was that there were no rugs at the front or back doors. We looked in the laundry room and found what we thought were old towels and one rug. Used one of the towels for a front door rug as it was rainy and lots of leaves in the yard. We had a messy dinner with a two year old and wanted to protect the chairs so used another of the towels from the laundry room. Two towels that we had for showering were nice and white. Ones from the laundry room were dingy and stained. Long story short I received a curt and accusatory note from Anna saying I had had a dog in the house and had ruined all their towels and was being charged $75. This was for the dingy towels that I took from the laundry room and supposedly ruined. There were a few other things with the house but the interaction with the host ruined the whole experience and I did end up paying for the towels. Never renting from her again! Oh, and I noticed that it was garbage day so took the can down to the street for them in the pouring rain!
