About this villa rental
WELCOME to our beautiful Caribbean “piece of paradise”, Villa de las Sirenas (House of the Mermaids). There are breath-taking ocean views, your own private pool and a beautifully landscaped yard. The property is completely fenced to ensure your privacy and safety. We provide dusk to dawn on property security.
This is a beautifully custom-built villa with 5 bedrooms that will comfortably sleep 12 people and 5 full baths (one outside by the pool for your convenience). It is within walking distance of the ocean front beach, a convenience store, several restaurants and bars, Ocean World (a mini sea world that children will love) and a full-service marina.
The rental fee includes a professional, attentive and amazing full-time staff to make your vacation perfect. At no additional cost, this includes a Chef, housekeeper and gardener and pool attendant. The staff is trustworthy, kind, fun and you will love them. Imagine having all of your meals prepared, your beds made daily, all of your personal needs attended to, your excursions designed and customized for you and your family and/or guests. Your transportation to and from the airport will be arranged. No worries, no hassle!!
Enjoy the private pool while you lounge in the sun surrounded by luscious, manicured, tropical garden areas. If you prefer, take a 2-minute walk to Cofresi beach and play in the warm, rolling waves.
Tania, our talented villa chef, will prepare and cook just about anything your heart desires, including delicious Dominican cuisine. We have a culinary guide that will help you determine what food and beverage you will need to purchase. Your food will be fresh and properly washed for consumption. To purchase your food you can send Tania with money to the grocery store to buy food of your choosing, including liquor, beer and wine, or you can accompany her to the store to purchase your food and beverage. A trip to the gocery store with Tania is always a fun exprience.
In addition to Tania, included in our staff is an assistant housekeeper, a pool/gardener/errand person, an excursion and event planner and a security guard. Our property and staff manager, Gabino, (who speaks very good English) will arrange taxis or transportation. Gus (not part of our staff) will drop by to offer you an array of excursions that will be customized for you and your party. Gus can also arrange (and we highly recommend) massages and/or other spa treatments right in the privacy of this beautiful villa by the pool or up on our veranda listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean and enjoying the cool sea breeze.
Recommended and closest airport is POP (Puerto Plata). The closest alternative is STI (Santiago). We can arrange transportation to and from either airport. Transportation from STI is a more expensive, but no rental car is needed. The cost of taxi and transportation is not included in the rental fee.
In advance of your arrival, several emails will be sent with detailed information regarding our villa, staff, excursions, house rules, transportation and your culinary options. This will help answer any questions and make your vacation in paradise a dream come true.

Everything was perfect - literally! The hot water was never an issue and the rooms cooled surprisingly well. The pictures were accurate. The curated art spoke to the home’s charm. The staff was exceptional and the hosts were timely in their response each time I needed clarification or to provide an update. Going to the supermarket with Tania was an experience. We felt so safe with the security provided and the grounds were well tended to. The views were breathtaking! The massage was so good that we asked her to come back the next day. This property is saved to book in the future. Thank you so much, Paul and Nancy, for allowing us to briefly stay in your beautiful home.

Leading up to the stay, the hosts were open to answering any questions and the sent out a few documents so that we would know about the property.
Some odd things -
1) You cannot flush toilet paper. A few in my party of 7 had some issues with this. It is unusual for someone from the U.S., but common in the DR.
2) We were at the house from July 4-12, 2024, and it was very warm. Not having air conditioning in the living areas was uncomfortable. We kept the doors and windows open, but there was no cool breeze. It was warm and bugs flew in the house. All of us had numerous bug bites when we left. We closed up the house at dusk as the bugs were attracted to the house lights at night. They need to add air conditioning to the living areas like they have in the bedrooms.
3) Although having a chef sounds good, she wasn't willing to suggest meals. We asked her what her specialties were and what she liked to cook and she really wouldn't tell us. It was nice having a chef and someone to clean up from meals, but the meals were not wonderful. They were "fine" to "good".
4) The Cofresi beach is not a place where you want to chill out and relax. Don't plan on spending time there. You will spend your time at the pool at the house.
5) The house has a 5 gallon water dispenser. Make sure that you get plenty of bottles to use for toothbrushing and dish washing. You still have to pay, but it's cheaper and easier than individual bottles.
The house was nice, but we would not revisit. 7/10.
