About this house rental
Drop Anchor is a 2 bedroom spacious residential home on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert island.
You will be 5 minutes from Acadia National park. Bass Harbor headlight, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, and Seawall picnic area. Bar harbor is a 20 minute drive.
Nearby is Archies lobster pound, Hansen’s seaside takeout (both walkable) and by car Thurstons lobster pound. And Seafood ketch. There are many other options in the neighboring town of Southwest Harbor.
The two story house is private with a backyard fire pit. While the home is exclusively yours, the property itself also has another studio rental and owners living quarters across the driveway. We promise to be respectful neighbors;) please note this is a pet friendly property! We do have dogs that we keep with us at all times, but you might see on the property.
The kitchen has recently been updated with all new appliances and paint. The bedrooms have new mattresses, and fresh coats of paint throughout.
The two bedrooms are located in the second floor along with two of the three bathrooms. The master bedroom king sized bed is a high off the ground four poster bed. The other bedroom has a regular style queen sized brand new bed.

Nicole was the perfect host. The house was decorated very cute and met our needs. We would rent from her again if in the area.

This home was perfect! Beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out, outdoor spots, and complete with everything we needed! This location worked well for day tours and away from the chaos of Bar Harbor. We took all of Nicole’s advice for tours, shopping & where to get local lobster for home cooking-and out….fabulous!I do not have any recommendations for improvement- we hope to be back soon! Thanks so much Nicole, what a great trip!!

The house is very spacious, comfortable, nicely appointed with care and away from the busyness of Bar Harbor and other communities. But there is great access into Acadia NP and around Mt Desert Island. Host Nicole communicates and responds promptly.
