44th floor studio, the highest floor in Island Colony.
You will love this penthouse vacation rental. The reasons are the price (less than a half of other Island Colony), the location (center of Waikiki), and the view (panoramic ocean, city, canal, and mountain)!!
Once you enter the unit, you step into a cozy kitchenette with all of the essentials you might think of to cook some goodies for your loved ones.
All of the cooked goodies can be eaten together with your family and friends from the comfort of the island themed, natural couch in your intimate living room next to the lanai. Here, you can even rest as you watch the flat-screen TV featuring a dozen local and international channels (Including some Japanese channels).
After an adventurous day in Waikiki, when all you may want is to melt into your own bed, turn on the AC and collapse into your queen size bed with fluffy pillows and soft linens, to guarantee a great sleep.
Island Colony is a few steps away from the building is a large concentration of shopping centers, such as Waikiki Shopping Plaza, BeachWalk, and the International Marketplace.
There is truly no end to the stores to wander through, unique dining options, and entertainment such as Hula lessons or cultural shows closeby.
But, if you prefer to explore more of Waikiki or even the greater Oahu area, there are several transportation options.
There is a bus stop located 3 minutes from the Island Colony building.
There is also a Biki rental bike stand nearby, which can be used to explore Waikiki.

The property lived up to the description and expectations. Well located, my wife and I have stayed in the building before at another unit and this one was good. It was nicely appointed and well equipped, including cleaning supplies and tools so we could leave it as clean as found. Some units fall short there. The lanai view is lovely, revealing the ocean, mountains, Ala Wai canal, neighborhood and the Hilton fireworks (when they have them). The bigger fridge is a BIG plus and the kitchen is stocked with all prep tools if desired. The a/c works fine but could be helped with the addition of a ceiling or oscillating fan. Units on the Diamondhead side of the building get better cooling advantage from trade breezes, but a simple fan would equal that out in this unit. The hot tub is first rate. Staying on the upper floor helps with significantly less street noise. We periodically experienced some recreational smoke from another unit on the floor; too bad they didn't opt for edible fun. Our unit's a/c running with the bathroom fan on helped with this. We will be back at Island Colony again. Because so many units are full time homes, the entire operation is well kept and periodically updated, and you cannot beat the location.

We really enjoyed the apartment, balcony view and family breakfasts before our busy days. The location is perfect, 5-10 minutes walk from all the restaurants and Target store where we got our groceries for breakfast. We will be happy to come back.

Penthouse is misleading as it is the same suite as every other suite in the building only located on the second most top floor. The Bathroom was basic and smaller than most any other we have ever used. The Kitchen was small and is basically a hallway to the front door, closet and bathroom. The balcony was nice and where we spent our time. The bed was top notch

Window was missing a pane of glass, causing the A/C to not work. A/C fan is very loud, and constantly on to try and cool the room. King bed frame has broken slats and middle support, causing uncomfortable sagging and loud cracking noises. Shower tub drain did not work, tub fills with water when showering.
