About this apartment rental
Our 1,900 square foot Cascade Village condo (Unit 35) features three bedrooms / three bathrooms and is a great family mountain escape, with a full kitchen, wood fireplace (wood provided), two private decks with amazing views, providing all the comforts of home. This condo is unique in that it offer 2 loft spaces, perfect for multiple families. The open living plan and high end furnishings and linens all contribute to the warm atmosphere.
Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King Bed and Ensuite Bath-private balcony (2nd Level)
2nd Bedroom - King Bed with TV (2nd Level)
3rd Bedroom - Queen Bed with TV (Main Level)
Loft - Trundle bed (Single over Single) (2nd Level)
Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units at Cascade Village, are NOT pet friendly. Also, trailers are not allowed.
As with all properties in the area, the condo does not have AC. Given the day times highs are rarely above 80 while the lows are in the 40s. Open the windows after the sun is behind the mountains and then close them in the morning along with the blinds that face west. This will keep the house plenty cool.
Cascade Village is less than 2 miles north of Purgatory Resort, 26 miles (less than 30 minutes) north of Durango and 25 miles south of Silverton (less than 30 minutes). Free on-site amenities at Cascade Village including an indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor/indoor hot tubs, pool table, outdoor tennis court, ski rental shop (with discounts)
Purgatory offers a complimentary ski shuttle to our Cascade rental guests on a set schedule 1-2 times in the AM and PM during the ski season, on a first come first serve basis. Details will be provided in your rental instructions.
All of the Cascade Village units are equipped with reliable Fiber Optic internet service with an average internet speed of up to 50 Mbps and guests can stream their favorite movies and TV shows on their preferred provider (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) using the smart TVs in the unit. With fast and reliable fiber optic WIFI, guests can stream on multiple devices. Cable TV is not available in any units at Cascade Village.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

The condo was perfect for our girl’s trip. There was lots of room, very well stocked kitchen, and a quiet and safe property. The 20 minute drive to town was not bad at all and the weather was so much cooler up the mountain. One thing we especially loved is that our senior guests were able to be dropped off at the door to the main level and had a bedroom right off living area. There were no stairs necessary for them to enjoy their stay as well. For future guests -We would recommend that you bring fans in the summer to cool things off. Bring something to dissuade the mosquitoes as well. We will definitely be staying again when we visit Durango.

I'll start with the pros - Great LocationLoved the shuttle (in winter runs twice in the morning & twice in the afternoon) covered parking was greatpool/spa was nice but no towelsKitchen had a lot of oils/spices/salt/pepper and that was nicebed were comfortable Liked having the two tables. Great for games/puzzles. Cons: This house needs some TLC. It needs some cleaning. Under all the furniture there is trash and it's just dirty. All surfaces need to be cleaned and dusted. It feels very choppy and tight despite being a larger space. I think some updated furniture that's less bulky might be helpful and just decluttering by getting rid of the fake floral arrangements that just take up space. The kitchen set up is tight but we managed. The Keurig didn't work. While the kitchen has a lot of stuff it needs to be gone through. Many pots without lids. The hot water for the house is VERY temperamental. We reported this and they said someone would look at but no one came. Hot water runs out very fast. We had 7 and only person could shower at a time and had to spread out showers to morning and afternoon/evening. Nice to have washer and dryer but wasn't sure how to work the "lint" system?! Also the pillows in the bedrooms need to be updated badly! Wish I had brought my own. Also I did ask to check in early and they said they would let me know. I asked again the morning of check in and they said they would text but never did. When we arrived I realized no one had rented the place in a week but yet they couldn't let us in an hour early? Seemed odd but I guess check in is check in. We just wanted to time right with bringing groceries for the week from Durango.
