About this villa rental

Poderone is set in open countryside where wild forest gives way to arable and dairy farmland in the Alta Maremma, the resort is a collection of individually owned cottages with its own pool. At 800m above sea level it borders Pescinello natural park. Each holiday cottage, carefully crafted using traditional Tuscan stone, terracotta ceilings and floors has a furnished garden/terrace to dine al fresco in the cool evening breeze.

Poderone's cherished, untamed South Western part of Tuscany is inhabited by unusual flora and fauna. It remains off the beaten track and is characterised by extensive forests, spectacular hilly country and lightly populated small towns and villages including Roccalbegna at 6Km. Here, the shops and bars practice the slow way of life that adds to the Tuscan charm. By contrast adrenaline seekers will want to head 18Km up Monte Amiata to downhill ride one of Tuscany's highest peaks at the Amiata Free Ride Bike Resort. The more relaxed spa town of Saturnia at 20Km boasts Etruscan ruins, hot springs and a piazza lined with divine restaurants including one that serves the best ravioli ever! For wine lovers, the home of Morellino di Scansano is at 30Km where you can discover their fresh crisp wines. Away from the crowds, this resort helps you discover a Tuscany you didn't know.
