About this villa rental

Poderone is a small, welcoming hamlet set amidst the open, rolling countryside of the Alta Maremma in south-western Tuscany. This lesser-known region lies away from the classic tourist routes and remains refreshingly unspoilt, preserving its authentic character and traditional way of life. The surrounding landscape is shaped by picturesque hilltop villages and rich natural surroundings, home to flora and fauna that are in parts rare and unique to the Maremma. The villas at Poderone are privately owned and individually styled, each offering its own outdoor dining terrace and garden area. The well-maintained communal grounds include an attractive oval-shaped shared pool, peacefully set within the countryside.

The medieval village of Roccalbegna is just 7 km away and offers a small selection of shops, restaurants and bars. Larger supermarkets can be found in Arcidosso, less than 20 minutes by car. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking and cycling on Monte Amiata, an extinct volcano, while wine lovers can visit Scansano to sample the renowned Morellino di Scansano. A particular highlight is the thermal area of Saturnia, with the freely accessible Cascate del Mulino, around 30 minutes away. Further rewarding day trips include Siena, the Val d’Orcia, and the coast, with destinations such as Castiglione della Pescaia and the Maremma National Park.
