About this house rental

In the small village of Oberwössen in Chiemgau, in the middle of the Bavarian alpine foothills and close to the Austrian border (7km), lies this enchanting 500-year-old farmhouse. The house was originally restored, the two bathrooms and the open kitchen are modernly equipped. An open fireplace and the rustic furnishings of the living room and bedrooms provide the incomparably cozy, Bavarian atmosphere.
Towards the south, the house has two beautiful sunny balconies, a spacious terrace with seating and subtle roofing and a garden with vegetable and herb beds. In the immediate vicinity are beautiful mountain lakes, hiking trails, alpine pastures, forests, skiing and cross-country skiing areas, mountain bike tours, rivers for kayaking and rating tours and various excursion destinations. The house offers the perfect place for recreation in the mountains both in summer and winter.

It was perfect for our large family. A fire to play games by at night. Fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals for our large group with plenty of seating. Laundry facilities. Plenty of warm comfortable beds. Gabi was a wonderful host and made sure we felt welcomed and had all that we needed. The village was charming with a wonderful backerei for daily brotchen runs. Would highly recommend!!

We all had such a great time. The farmhouse was the perfect venue for a friend reunion. We are coming back next year!

Lovely family stay. Property is very unique and comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped but microwave conspicuous by it's absence. Village and location excellent, including nearby good bakery/butcher, however nearer to a road with traffic than expected. For taller travelers note there are some low ceilings as it is classically traditional and unique Bavarian 500 year old house. Bathrooms are excellent and modern.

we are a family of 5 and we stayed for one week in this beautiful old house with lots of atmosphere. The house has been restored in a very nice way and feels like a home. There are lots of antic furniture and the kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms are big and spacy and also very cozy! Outside there is a very nice dining area where we had all our meals - even the day with rain and thunder - because it is covered! This protected us from both the sun and the rain! The garden is smal but beautiful with lots of flowers. We were so lucky to get permission from the owner to use some of the vegetables and herbs in her garden - and we enjoyed that a lot!
