About this cottage rental
Small stone house of about 49m2, comprising on the first floor, an equipped kitchen area, with a table and 4 chairs, a living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom equipped with a shower, a sink and a toilet.
Upstairs a closed mezzanine with a 90 cm bed, an independent bedroom with a 140 cm double bed and another independent bedroom with two 90 cm beds.
Outside a pergola with garden furniture and a barbecue, facing the swimming pool.
A beautiful swimming pool (common to the 3 cottages) of 13.5m x 4.5m will allow you to cool off all day long and will be particularly appreciated when you return from your visits.
A small haven of peace, the two hectares of Chantegrel in the Périgord Noir are there to make you forget your daily life. Only 3 km from the medieval town of Sarlat la Canéda and close to the main tourist sites (Lascaux, Les Eysies, chasms and caves, troglodyte village, castles of the Dordogne valley).

You will be located at the gates of the capital of the Périgord Noir, renowned for its monumental adornment dating mainly from the medieval period and the beginning of the Renaissance (13th to 16th century). You will be able to appreciate its markets where the specialties of the region are sold: foie gras, duck breasts, truffles, ceps, figs and walnuts.

We had a wonderful time at this gite. Although it was quite small, it was actually perfect for our family (3 kids, aged 2, 4, and 6). The cottage was reasonably clean, and it came equipped with kids DVDs, which was a nice surprise. When we were there, it was a little chilly so we didn't take advantage of the pool, but it looked great and the kids were wishing to go in. The kitchen wasn't as well equipped as it could have been, but it was definitely adequate (for instance, the bottle opener didn't work very well). All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would recommend it. Just be aware that it is about 10 minutes from Sarlat, and quite rural.

We stayed in one of the three gites for 4 nights in mid September (M-Thu).
We were a bit unsure until we get to the location as there were no check -in instructions after we booked (and paid) neither via email, nor in the app. On arrival, we had to guess which cottage is going to be ours and how to get in.
Even though the place is very small, it is equipped with most of the things you'd need. There is a kitchen with a dining table seating 4 and a living space with a 2 to 3 seater sofa downstairs, 2 bedroom upstairs. One which has a small double bed and the other one with 2 single beds and another single bed between the two bedrooms. It was just us (a couple with no kids), so we were fine inside in the cooler evenings.
Apart from a few broken things and lack of light bulbs everything was in good condition. We appreciate it was probably the very end of the season. The swimming pool is big enough to be shared among the 3 gites only if there are 3 couples staying only, I would imagine it could be a bit tight with kids too.
Even though it's very close to Sarlat, the roads are very narrow and totally dark, so we wouldn't have gone out for dinner and drive back in dark etc. It is a great place if you'd like to just stay at the accommodation all they and enjoy the silence (if you have no noisy people in the other gites)!
Over all, we enjoyed our time, mainly because there were no other guests on site until the list night, so it felt like we've had the whole pool and site just for ourselves.
