About this house rental
Welcome to our high mountain lakeside getaway. Known fondly as Meme's lake house, let us show you why Vermont is the destination for every season.
Meme's lake house boast 100 feet of private, crystal clear lake frontage perfect for canoeing and kayaking (we provide both for your use with life vests!) or simply gazing out at while enjoying that morning cup of joe. A large fire pit can be found outback, and our private community beach is a short stroll down the road where a sandy beach welcomes summer fun! Ask about renting our golf cart too!
Back home, a wonderful kitchen awaits the chef of the family with an open dining and living room area perfect for entertaining or a quiet evening alone. Cozy up to the classic Vermont wood burning stove while enjoying your favorite book and sinking into the deep leather couch, so comfy! Upstairs, you will find three well appointed and comfortable bedrooms; one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with two double beds. Window AC units for those rare hot summer nights. There is also a sitting area offering expansive views of the beautiful sunsetting sky.
For our winter guests, Woodford is located directly on the VAST trail system which offers some of the finest snowmobiling conditions in the state. Ample parking for vehicles and trailers. Ice fishing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and ice skating are right outside the door of Meme's lake house. The quaint Town of Wilmington which offers exquisite dining and boutique shopping is a short 15 minute drive away. Mount Snow and Stratton are also easily within reach.

We loved this spot! From chilling by the water in the great yard and deck to explore nearby hiking spots, we couldn’t have asked for more! Jessica was very communicative as well.

What a great spot - the owners were very true to the listing and the place had everything you would need plus plenty you would not expect to have. To be honest, we brought too much stuff as the hosts had everything from firestarters, super strong wifi, a bluetooth speaker, to a fully stocked kitchen, even spices and condiments. Gas and charcoal grill, small lawn area for yard games, waterfront pirepit, plenty of outdoor seating, use of kayaks and canoe as well as easy access to the small community beach. Even beach toys, lifejackets, etc. Quick and easy access to both Wilmington and Bennington but yet in it's own little oasis. Nothing really to quibble about - sure, a dock would be awesome and a update to the screened-in porch is needed, but again nothing to complain about. I am sure those are both on the hosts list of projects. Such a cute place! One point which is out of anyone's control is that as the map shows, this is opposite the lake from Route 9 the main road - so there is highway noise when trucks and motorcycles are going past. Thank you again for having this gem available for our family to enjoy a long weekend before the school season arrives.

The property is lovely, the view is excellent, and the house has everything you might need and much more! The pond is small and very shallow. We could not swim right in front of the house due to the muddy bottom and weeds, but the beach was very close. Our two-year-old granddaughter enjoyed it very much. It's an ideal place for a family with young children.
