"We really enjoyed our stay, the only bad thing, we were unable to sit on front or back porch, the carpenter bees, (looked similar to bumble bees) were flying around both areas, not just a couple, alot..."

About this cabin rental

Welcome to Respite Ridge and the Restoration Station Cabin, one of three cabins situated on a 10-acre mountain view estate less than one mile from Landrum town center and 4 miles from Tryon, NC. Restoration Station offers peace and solitude. Hang out on the swing on the large front porch or sit a spell on the back deck with cup of coffee to watch the early morning deer graze the back field.

The Restoration Station Log Cabin is a cozy place to enjoy breakfast before heading to Main Street for antique shopping or Amish foods and furniture exploring. Or have breakfast at Southern Manners, lunch at Hare and Hound, dinner at Soulisa’s and finish up with a glass of wine and live music at one of our local wineries (Overmountain Winery, Mountain Brook Winery or The Red Horse Inn). The dog friendly cabin is only a few scenic miles from Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), F.E.N.C.E. or Highway 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway.
For History buffs, in addition to the Landrum Depot Rail and History Museum (1949 Pullman Sleeper Car), Campbell's Covered Bridge (last of its kind in SC) and Poinsett Bridge (built in 1820) also tell the story of the South Carolina Upstate with color and homage.

You may take a hike—short or long—to enjoy Green River Gorge, Blue Wall Preserve, or Pearson Falls--or just soak up some slow-down time, read a good book, waft the mountain air, listen to the birds. There's also impressive stargazing in the foothill's big night sky.
The cabin is well-equipped to whip up your own cuisine. On Saturday mornings, lots of locally grown meat and produce along with a slew of artisan crafts can be found at the Landrum Farmer's Market just 1/2 mile from the cabin. The conveniently located local grocery, Ingles, has a plentiful selection and O’Darbys staff can provide informed guidance on liquer and spirits—between the two you are sure to find everything you need. You will discover the kitchen has all the essentials and many of the nice-to-have extras—such as blender, griddle, wok, and more.

There are many other coffee and dining options, our favorites include The Stubborn Mule Restaurant and Brewery, Southside Smokehouse, Sidestreet Pizza, Brooks Tavern, Trade Street Creamery, Buck n Brew, Openroad Coffee Roastery, Katie D’s NY Bagels, Caro Mi’s, Stone Soup, Harvest House and more.

Have a look at VRBO 2023701 for the Rustic Refuge Log Cabin (2 bedroom, 1 bath) also at Respite Ridge for larger groups.

We really enjoyed our stay, the only bad thing, we were unable to sit on front or back porch, the carpenter bees, (looked similar to bumble bees) were flying around both areas, not just a couple, alot. Also, the chairs, cushions were covered with pollen, but of course it is that time of year.

I have never been treated as nice and kind as I was by Larry and Kim (owners). The cabin was honestly perfect. We had an unexpected death while visiting and they showed us tremendous compassion and support. Watching the sheep, as we would leave every morning was calming . The beautiful springtime bulbs and trees blooming was amazing. We will return to this charming place.

We came to visit our daughter and her family in Campobello. It was very convenient and relaxing.

The property was fine and good Location for what we needed. However a dog barked for hours and after a while it just got annoying. Not sure if it’s a neighbors dog or the owners.
