About this house rental
This Virginia Creeper Mountain View House started its life in 1947 when it functioned as a tobacco farm. You will find the original barn still located on the property. The home is a cozy 1495 square feet, located just outside of the town of Damascus, VA in a small neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly and many of them have lived in their homes their entire lives. The home offers all the modern comforts of a newly renovated space while retaining the character of the original home. With 4 bedrooms, 8 beds and many sleeping options, the best option for groups of up to 12 guests in Damascus. Come fall in love with the small-town charm, breathtaking mountain views, and big adventure vibes.
The open concept allows for everyone to stay connected whether you’re in the kitchen, dining room or family room. The living room has a large comfortable sectional sofa that offers storage under every seat and 65” smart tv. A fully equipped kitchen has a generous amount of counterspace, and the bar accommodates seating for 4. The dining room table seats 8 and is perfect for eating in or playing card games with large groups. Two master suite bedrooms are located on the main floor: one bedroom master suite includes a king bed, 43" HDTV and full bathroom with standup shower; other bedroom master suite includes a queen bed, 43" HDTV and full bathroom with standup shower. Two bedrooms and the common area are located upstairs: one bedroom includes 2 single beds and window AC unit; other bedroom includes 2 single beds; common area includes full bed. Large bathroom with trough sink, tub, and shower on main floor. The large front porch with 2 seating areas waiting for you to sit and sip your morning coffee or your nightly beverage.
The property is pet friendly with a limit of 3 dogs and must be pre-approved. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $200 for 1 dog and $50 fee for each additional dog up to 3 dogs total.

This house is conveniently located near the Virginia Creeper Trail. While the proximity to the trail is a significant advantage for outdoor enthusiasts, our experience at the house was mixed.
The house has a nice kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances, making meal preparation enjoyable and convenient. The large, round dining table is perfect for family meals or gatherings with friends, providing ample space for everyone.
However, there were several drawbacks to the property. The beds were quite firm, which may not be comfortable for all guests. Additionally, the cleanliness of the house was subpar. We cleaned up several areas where there were crumbs left scattered. The presence of numerous bugs inside the home was another downside, and there was a persistent musty odor throughout the house that was difficult to ignore.
Even with that, staying here was easy. Communication with the owners was great, and the neighbors were very nice.
Overall, the rental has its merits, particularly for those seeking easy access to the Virginia Creeper Trail.
