About this chalet rental
Chalet located directly on the Chestatee River. Located within 6 miles of downtown Dahlonega and 18 miles from Helen Georgia, which offer various dining and entertaining options. Within a few miles of local wineries, vineyards, breweries and wedding venues. Nearby activities include hiking, water sports, fishing, horseback riding, golf, mountain biking, gold prospecting, local zoos, Vogel State Park, Blood Mountain and much more. Exterior security cameras for your safety. The property will be decorated for the holidays.
Never lose power. The whole property is powered by a Generac generator.
This is not an event facility. Use of property for weddings, showers, receptions, parties or any event consisting of additional guests is strictly prohibited unless prior approval is given. No more than 6 adults and 5 children permitted, strictly enforced. Unless late check out is approved, there will be a $20 charge for every 15 minutes past the check out time.
Parking pad accommodates 4 vehicles, no additional vehicles allowed and no parking on the grass. The driveway is actually a road. It cannot be blocked. During your stay some vehicles may drive through as well as minimal pedestrian traffic. Gps sometimes takes you on a detour especially when using Waze. When you turn on Lewis Grindle, the road will turn into a bumpy gravel road. You will continue straight until you see our sign and a concrete driveway on the right. Gps sometimes tries to have you turn on Lunceford Circle before our driveway, this is incorrect and will send you to other side of our property.
Lumpkin County allows shooting of firearms during daytime and night time hours. From time to time shooting can be heard from our property. Shooting firearms for any use other than self defense is prohibited at our property.
Lewis Grindle is the road that leads to our property. It is a private road and usually in disrepair. We try our hardest to keep it smooth, but it is a rough ride. 3 other vacation rentals, delivery trucks, mail service and residents use the road daily without any issues. We do not recommend low vehicles.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay. The host was so nice and helpful. The property was spotless and had a kitchen with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable. We had so much fun on the river with our daughters, their husbands, my two granddaughters and my husbands brother. My granddaughters loved catching tadpoles in the water and doing some trout fishing although they did not catch any fish. An eagle flew by several times and we saw a beaver swimming by on several occasions. The property include kayaks and my granddaughters got to learn to kayak on the beautiful river. We had a fire and told stories around the outdoor fire pit. We also enjoyed the very nice and clean hot tub. The floor to ceiling windows facing the river spotlighted the relaxing view. Everyone in the family loved it.

Place was beautiful! Giant windows and spectacular views. Kayaking and hot tubing. Memories we'll never forget.

Front of property (not shown in photos) looked very unimpressive and was on a gravel alley with no view whatsoever. Unfortunately this is where the location of the hot tub was chosen, so we didn’t even consider using it. Soon after arrival a fire alarm began beeping until we removed it from the ceiling. The furnishings were ok but not what we expected for this nightly rate, particularly the upstairs bedroom which was sparse and plain. Later that night we were awakened by an alarm from the oven which we had to fix the next morning after some internet research. The towels and washcloths were stained and scratchy. Fortunately the location was only 20 min from wineries and downtown Dahlonega, or this trip would have been a complete bust. We won’t be returning.
