About this house rental

Nestled on the Little Sturgeon River. Nature enthusiasts will love watching wildlife in this idyllic setting. Step across the street, and you’re in the heart of town! House is located at the North Central State Trail for snowmobiling, biking or leisurely walks. Launch your boat from the public boat ramp directly across the street and explore the inland waterways of Indian River, Burt Lake, Mullet Lake. We’re just a half-hour drive from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and enchanting Mackinac Island.

The space
Your perfect Northern Michigan retreat! Our charming riverside property boasts abundant aquatic wildlife and is just a short walk from downtown to many restaurants and stores.

We provide a key code to the front door before your arrival, eliminating the need for a key exchange. Step into the foyer, where you can hang your coats over a heated baseboard and find a bench for removing wet boots and shoes.

River Pines features 3 bedrooms, including a master suite with a stunning river view, and 2 full bathrooms. Additionally, there’s a convenient pullout couch for extra guests.

The family room features two full-size couches, a high-top game table for puzzles and games, and two swivel chairs. There's nothing more relaxing than sitting in the swivel chairs in the morning, sipping on coffee with a cozy blanket, and watching the river critters. Furnished with a dedicated workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen with brand new appliances, a slow cooker, large stew pot, and all your cooking needs. Our coffee bar features a drip coffee maker, Keurig, tea kettle, and a startup assortment of coffee, teas and hot chocolate.

Unwind on our covered back porch, offering a peaceful river view surrounded by privacy-providing pine trees. Gather around the fire ring with Adirondack chairs, perfect for roasting marshmallows and watching ducks glide by. Enjoy our newly built dock and try your luck fishing for trout.

Located on the North Central State Trail, our home is ideal for snowmobiling, walking, running, and biking. We're within walking distance to Devoe Beach, perfect for watching sunsets, fishing, and swimming. Less than a mile away, Big Bear Adventures offers year-round fun with rafting, tubing, kayaking, guided SideXSide tours, and unique winter raft trips. Several nearby areas that provide hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoe trails.

Nearby attractions include:
• Indian River Golf Club (1 mile)
• Cross In The Woods National Shrine (1 mile)
• Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Gaylord (30 minutes)
• Northern Michigan’s top alpine resorts: Nubs Nob, Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain, and Treetops (30 minutes)

Our spacious driveway easily accommodates boat and ATV trailers. Across the street, you’ll find a public boat and kayak ramp providing access to the Indian River Inland Waterway, connecting to Burt Lake, Mullett Lake, and even Lake Huron.

Our home comfortably accommodates 9 people, but please note it's not suitable for young children who can’t swim due to the proximity to the river. This is a riverfront house in Northern Michigan, so you may see insects from time to time. Only small Jon boats or kayaks can use the river at our dock due to an underpass that limits the size of boats and the depth of the river.

Come and experience the best of Northern Michigan with us at River Pines!

You will love this house! We spent a week here and not only loved the house, we loved the area. First the house. Sarah is a dream host. Always responding right away, answering every question. Even the welcome binder she provides is great. Be sure to read it. Filled with ideas on how to enhance your experience. The house is a great resting spot between all the adventures. Plenty of space for eating, cooking, socializing, outdoor living. Very well appointed. Loved the combination coffee maker, the pots, pans, dishes, cutting boards, wine glasses, etc. Very comfortable beds, plush towels, soap, hair dryers, a couple couches for napping, and a dedicated work space for our remote worker. The location is off the river so best for kayaks and canoes. We rented a boat and jet skis from the Inbetween when we wanted access to the river and the lakes. You can walk to town and the beach. Drosts for ice cream, Inbetween for fish, Station for BBQ, Vivios for Italian and Pizza, Christopher’s for breakfast. Indian River golf course is public and gorgeous. It’s also an ideal vacation spot for the wider area. We walked the bridge (Labor Day is only) and went to Mackinac Island. Mackinaw City is 30 minutes away. We went to the dark sky park, amazing. Watched the Elk Herds, went to Petosky, Cross Village, Charlevoix. Walked to Topinabee on the trail near the house and ate at the Bridges. We highly recommend this house. It’s clean, comfortable and welcoming. A home away from home.

This is such a beautiful and comfy home! Perfectly decorated and had all of the amenities we needed… including super close access to the Indian River boat launch if you’re looking to enjoy the nearby rivers/lakes by boat. Sarah was extremely responsive. Highly recommend this home and we hope to come back someday!

This property is well managed. My sisters and I easily checked in and out with minimal fuss. We spent our time with each other instead of cleaning the house.
