Escape to nature at Woodlands Cottage. This charming century-old cottage nestled under the trees in Douglas, MI rests on a beautiful four-acre tree-lined property filled with old majestic Pines and Maples.
INSIDE THE HOME
Woodlands is tastefully decorated in modern-cottage décor that includes art work from the Saugatuck region. The main floor features a full bath and the king size bedroom, upstairs there is another full bath with two bedrooms.

Second Floor Bedroom 2: Two Twin Beds
Second Floor Bedroom 3: Queen Bed
OUTDOOR SPACE
Relax with your morning coffee in the porched-in dining room while looking out into the woods, or relax on the back deck and soak up the sun, or build a fire and relax with a glass of wine under the century-old Maple on the patio. Enjoy the sound of the wind rustling through the forest while watching the regional birds visiting the bird feeders, and don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a deer or two passing through the grounds.
The Fall season is a beautiful time to stay at Woodlands cottage. The foliage on the property and in the Saugatuck/Douglas area begins to change as early as late September and the color continues through to the end of October with the peak around the second and third week of October. The house is also redecorated for the Fall with decor and art from local area businesses.
THE LOCATION
While wonderfully secluded in a serene forest setting, this quaint little country cottage is only a short bike-ride away from downtown Douglas, the Dunes Resort, and Saugatuck.

Comfortable, clean indoor space and we enjoyed a fun weekend exploring nearby Saugatuck. Rustic, wooded setting with very nice fire pit area. Unable to get the lights to turn on in the gazebo- may have been user error. :) Inside fireplace isn’t operational.

Overall very nice stay. Close to Douglas and Saugutuck. Check in and out were both very easy. The kitchen is well stocked.

Rented the property for a long weekend in Michigan.Upon checking in ( which was easy with code provided) the home definitely had a distinct odor which was a combination of old, musty. The home cleanliness was subpar with easily months of dust on the floors under the beds and baseboards.While promoted with a fire pit, note that the property manager doesn’t provide any firewood and this must be obtained on your own.While we were staying the property lost power (as did most of Saugatuck). The property become inhabitable with 90 degree heat and no air conditioning or power of any variety. We requested a partial refund as we had to leave early due to this property not having any electricity for so long and being uninhabitable. The property manager is a large real estate company managing 80 properties. When texting with the property manager they were rude and unhelpful and unaccompanied. We request a partial refund due to the property becoming uninhabitable per the rental agreement, which was denied.I do not recommend staying with jaqua vacation rentals
